This is our first time listening to ZZ Top. We were on a live stream the other day and got flooded with ZZ Top recommendations. We ran a poll and La Grange won the poll. We heard the news that Dusty Hill passed away and we send our condolences to his family, friends, and fans. RIP Dusty Hill

Man, she gets it. Every video I see from these kids, she's got cool ideas on how these voices sound. She feels the rhythm, she gets the nuances and finds a way to describe them that are unique to her, but we can all understand.

I remember this bursting onto the radio - like no music I had ever heard before. I saw them shortly after this and could not believe such a solid wall of music could come from 3 people. RIP, Dusty. You were legend.

"I had these leather moccasins that sounded just like him" may be the single best description of a singers tone that I have ever heard. Epic! I love your unique way of describing sounds.

Man, this girl has the deepest understanding of music and the most amazing way of describing whar she is hearing. she has a magical ear and hears things in songs that most people just don't get. Brad is so different and how Lexie confuses him is priceless. I love this pair of kids. They are so Yin and Yang and both make the experience enjoyable.

You can see Lex’s inner beauty every time she flashes that bright smile and her eyes light up……love it
  • @eximusic
He's imitating blues singer John Lee Hooker's singing style in this song (esp. the "how, how, how" part). Everyone understands what Lex is saying - she's a natural poet.

This lady is absolutely adorable. Incredibly gorgeous. Her smile is infectious and her husband is a cool cool cat. My fave peeps.

Lex is awesome in her reactions... she definitely is unique. I love it. RIP Dusty Hill.

I could see the scene now. Lex: Your voice is like a leather moccasin. Billy Gibbons: [bobbing his head gently] Yeah, I can dig that.

Straight otta Texas. ZZ Top is deep well that's worth a deep dive. These guys are old school great.
  • I know what Lex is sayin’ about his voice. Billy is so blues driven in his music. Billy is chill and got that deep voice. John Lee Hooker.
  • Billy Gibbons is definitely one of a kind. Unique voice and kick ass guitar player. And, Lex is dead-on with her allusions as always.
  • @cartercarter645
The Moccasin references is perfect! His voice is weather beaten fo sure - decades of the Blues comes through
  • @Vlasko60
Brad, I've listened to this song a thousands times and never noticed once that the guitar solo is as quiet (or less) than the rest of the music. It really blends in well instead of dominating, as you alluded to. Maybe now I now why I like that solo so much. Great observation. Thank you.

ZZ Top is Top Shelf fo sho! “Heard It On The X”, “Cheap Sunglasses” and “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide” are my personal favs by the band.
  • @toddsonnier3763
They played my dad's prom in the 60s as The Moving Sidewalks. This song is about the famous Chicken Ranch brothel in TX. ZZ TOP is as Texas as longhorns, Whataburger and HS football
  • @mikeobrien8886
I love watching Lex react. Without saying a word her facial expressions and smile say everything. She is a true rocker
  • @kevindowd31021
Love Lex's smile! She hears (and sees) the beauty of the music.
  • @andrewedgecombe
Lex: you know what I'm saying? Brad: no-one knows what you're saying Everyone: speak for yourself! "Voice like leather moccasins" is really evocative, and works really well!
