The 90mm is my go to lens for corporate headshot work. I don't need the f2 aperture since I'm shooting against a solid background at f5.6-f8 99% of the time, but the focus is accurate and fast. The focal length also gives me some room between myself and my clients so they don't feel crowded. That's a big thing when you're photographing lawyers/realtors/etc that aren't typically comfortable in front of a camera. Occasionally, as I often work on location at clients offices, there isn't enough space to use the 90mm and I drop down to the 56mm. For outdoor and environmental portraits that aren't tightly framed I really love the 50mm equivalence of the TCL on my X100f. Being able to balance small flash with bright sun and not need HSS thanks to the leaf shutter is a major bonus as well.

I stumbled upon your channel today as I’ve a deep interest in buying the 90mm f/2 to augment my 56 f/2. I found from your sample photos you showcased your style of image making and it similar to mine. I love the fact that you can Capture full height models and details of their fashion. The color is superb . I’m contemplating a new project and this lens will be key. I’m based here in New York and I am a semi retired free lance photographer sorry no video and would enjoy speaking with you on my new project. Oh I subscribed!

I bought this first, and then got the 50/1 too. The 50 is great indoors and in low light, but the 90 is truly special too when you have to space to use it.

Greetings from crazy San Francisco. After the back heals, my 90 will be ready for it's first outing. But my Viltrox 85 is gonna be pissed.
