Disney doesn't get it. The problem wasn't that the movies were failing because of the lack of RDJ, it was failing because of the terrible writing. Bringing RDJ back will be like doing patch job when they should be doing a complete overhaul.

It's almost like Disney can't help themselves. Luke Skywalker in Mandalorian, everyone is excited, then they lose all that good will by firing Gina. Then they have a string of box office failures, get back on track with Deadpool and Wolverine and then they pull this shit.

That absolutely admitted that they knew what we knew - RDJ carried the MCU. They wouldn't even make a Spider-Man movie without him somehow connected. "New Mask, Same Task" followed by a wink to Feige which probably meant "you can pull the Brinks armored car with my 100million up out back now" - Please carry our MCU for a few more films.

What's really stupid about this is that Doom has a disfigured face. Watch Disney erase that huge part of Dooms history so they can have RDJ walking around in Doom armor with his mask off.

I’m ambivalent on the subject. While I think you’re right in that this is a desperation play, I’d rather see RDJ as Doctor Doom than coming back as Iron Man.

People are rightly worried that we aren't going to get a proper Reed-Victor relationship. Instead we get Tony Stark in a Doom mask.

100% agreed. Dr. Doom has been my fav no.1 villain in Marvel since the 80s and bringing in RDJ back for this...just feels lazy, boring, and stupid.

Doesn't Doctor Doom just have to be a great voice? Jason Isaacs, Jeremy Irons, Mark Strong, Charles Dance, Michael Dorn, Andy Serkis, to name a few.
