18:15 “On the spiritual path, you must be willing to compromise your lifestyle to accommodate your spiritual path but you must NOT be willing to compromise your spiritual path to accommodate your lifestyle.” Thank you 🙏

"Depression, you are welcome in my home but you're going to abide by my rules." That's powerful ❤

That’s why the wise and kind elders are beyond precious, a great blessing.

Wow. I am part Cherokee Indian. This is the first lecture I’ve heard from a wise Indian person. I am floored. Absolutely floored. The origins of my family line started on shaky grounds with this side of my lineage. It is good, at 50, to finally come home. Thank you, Sir. May you find peace and joy in even the small things. Love, Tara Ann Pruett
  • The part on depression is so good. I went thru it and I decided after 10 years I had enough. People worse off than me saw the light and it also gave me strength.

Buddhism supports everything you said. Not accepting change causes discomfort. Change isn't painful, resentment of change is what's painful. Once we accept the change there is no pain. I'm Northern Scottish but my Tribe is Humanity!
  • The story about depression and it following your rules was so insightful for me. That really clicked something into place. Such an inspiring story from this man!

what I would give to live with these elders, to be taught the truth of living in peace with mother earth, with all my relations and ancestors. The drum became my heart beat from the moment I sat in the circle. Thank you so much to all my distant Native family for helping me walk the Red Road via the internet...

Thank you for this great wisdom. I dreamt of my children’s grandmother last night, she died many years ago, she was native. She stood by my adult daughter who I am worried about. I asked her to talk to her because she won’t talk to me. I felt her point at psychology and ceremony. I woke up and turned on my phone, this video was suggested at the top of the feed. Maybe spirit is affecting algorithms. ❤️☺️🎶

This is so amazing, thank you for the reminder. I think this modern way of life also contributes to depression, I wish I could live more connected to nature in good community.

This is what I've found while meditating on the Bible and my life. God said he didn't give us a spirit of fear. I literally see all feelings as spirits. Depression is just an evil spirit that pushes away Joy, happiness, confidence and fulfillment. I no longer welcome depression. It no longer holds power over me. I see it and let it move past me now. Not in or through me. I no longer have the spirit of anxiety either. No more attacks! Amen for healing 🙏🏾

The way he described depression that’s how I felt with depression, depression can get dark but I didn’t want depression to take over me any more. I did the inner work , therapy and the support of my family and myself I got through it ❤

Great teachings of a great man. A man's greatness is always gauged by the wisdom he keeps. Again, this is a great man of high virtue, and he is blessing us with the wisdom he keeps. May I thank you, wise one, for sharing this with us for our benefit, and may we share the goodness to others that require it. One other thing that I wish to add, for those dealing with depression, listen intently from 11:40 to about 16:45, that is wisdom. I thank those who have come before for keeping this knowledge and those that will come for the preservation of this knowledge. May we come together and recognize our brothers and sisters in each other. Blessings for all who have wisdom and share it and to those who receive it to be shared with others. Hope and Believe. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊

This is also what Vietnamese Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh said. He said to say, "Hello Depression, how are you today?" "Welcome Anger, have a seat." This is a good reminder.

I’m not sure if it’s the lack of sleep or… everything. But the depression bit made me cry this is amazing. He explained it so well and I’m happy I watched this. I’m trying to learn more about my roots and I love this new chapter for me. Thank you for sharing.
  • I really like the idea of making friends with depression thanks for sharing this much gratitude 💓
