  • Quite sad that the majority of these videos, have a miniscule % of views vs the video being debunked. Keep fighting the fight Layne. For the algorithm!
  • I am glad people like Layne exist because otherwise, believing the people who just regurgitate random information without understanding it would be a lot more easier considering I am not an expert in any way. Although I do try to do my part and read and get my information from the best sources I am able to find.
  • I feel like some people demonize protein powder just because it’s “processed” because of the ingredients. 99% of it is just the protein taken out of milk, and the rest are thickeners and sweeteners and flavorings no different from what you’d find in any other store bought packaged products. No issues with cake, candy, and cookies though 🤷‍♂️

When I see the phrase "killing your gains" it causes an involuntary dry heave response. (But it's Layne so I clicked)

Call me weird but, after my morning workout, if I am not hungry, I don’t eat. When I get hungry, I eat. I’m a fit sixty-year-old male and weigh what I did in high school. I have maintained muscle mass and feel young and energetic. I think I’ll stick with what I’ve been doing for the last thirty years. Thanks for the video, Layne. I always enjoy your pragmatic approach to maintaining good health with a dose of science to back up your cited evidence.

Since listening to Layne I've become a "show me the study" guy. I also learned from Peter Attia's "Studying Studies" a great deal about reading studies and how to look for weak science.

few people are consistent enough to discover a pattern. Life is long - training is fun - calories matter - keep questing of knowledge. Love this channel
  • @aniaemge
I learn about Lane from Huberman Lab podcast. I love how simple and straight forward he is without extra fluff. I just love it. Thank you
  • That "thank you Christopher hitchens" layne staying true to his work always crediting the source
  • @mattheat1
When I watch these videos, I always think about the fact that it takes about 3 seconds for someone, in this case Ben Greenfield, to make some random claim. Then I think about the crazy number of hours that it took for researchers to put together these long term studies and how long it takes Layne to put together the relative information into a well formatted argument. Just on the metric of time spent on the subject, it’s pretty clear what information we as content consumers can believe.

dude your nuance is unmatched, I would have never guessed these details (or probably even found out from anyone else). So glad I found your channel
  • I used to listen to him and stopped about 2 years ago. Dude would agree with anything.
  • Wife asked me to help clean the house. Saw what the fitness was posted and told her to give me 10 minutes… gotta partake in my favorite past time. Listening to bullshit get wrecked by facts. Thanks again brother!
  • Thank you for coming into my life! Thank you for being my most creditable source for health and fitness. You deserve everyone as a subscriber. We need more truth in what's real. The available studies are the only proof to give us proper guidance to moving forward but also those who can explain them properly. Wish the government would take more concern and direction towards improving the diseases, etc. by providing more funding to support health. A mandatory direction to adding health and fitness as a required class or classes throughout the beginning of our lives may really help give most of us structure in living out life having less risk to a multitude of issues. Just imagine the average person's age, the money you're saving not having to rely on medicine, the mindset, the regulation of hormones, the energy, the motivation! The list goes on................ Your amazing! Keep it up!
