Impressive precision and power combined in these heavy-duty marvels. Mahogany is such a fine wood. The price is so steep. Makes fine furniture and cabinetry. Gunstocks are also another use. Sturdy, gorgeous, and lightweight

As someone who lost a finger in a sawmill accidentally, the lack of safety makes me cringe!

Beautiful wood, I have a whole set mahogany furniture in my bedroom, enjoy it everyday
  • Mahogany grows in south Florida. It is Cuban mahogany which is considered the finest species of mahogany due to workability, appearance and termite resistant heartwood. Has what seems to be some silica in the wood so can dull gouges faster than some other woods. I have found many pieces laying in the street after tree trimming or tree being cut down. I turn it on a lathe. Tight grain, smells good, not too hard or soft a wood. Darkens beautifully with age. Just an oil finish. Working with It is similar to cherry. Leaves even look like cherry! May be in the same family. Love this wood. So much is just wasted.

Well keep pn doing what you need to do. Our government likes to tell us what we can and cannot do. Maybe we are not so free after all. Just saying.

Was I the only one who was checking to see if the sawyer still had all of his fingers? 😳
  • "I really admire the new design patterns they're applying to wood processing. Truly unique and creative!" 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏

  • My grandfather lost two fingers on his right hand by adjusting blade guides on a bandsaw just like that. He should have stopped the blade but too young and didn't have the patience. Luckily it was on his right hand and he could still play the fiddle.
