  • The Grandmothers and Mothers were the survival teachers of the home. Chores taught us kids how to live and take care of our family. Fathers worked outside at paid jobs along with chores at home. I’m very thankful for these women and the memories I have.❤

The kitchen is ALWAYS the heart of the home, my family would rather gather in the kitchen than anywhere else 😊❤
  • I remember my grandmother use to put a pot of beans a stove like this. And trust me them things tasted good. Oh Lord they was good. This is why I tell people I could live in the snow because I know to do it .

Have you conveniently forgot that women of the depression era was also the "bread winners' in many cases. Usually 500 men would compete for 1 or 2 jobs. The women helped out bt taking in laundry, sewing, making meals ect,,,, I remember my mother and her older sisters helped with the laundry ( both washing and ironing) my grandmother made dresses for a quarter. That included all the other things they did. The men did not always come home for dinner.
