Weird History Food is getting some roast beef action with the History of Arby's. While Arby's "have the meats" in July of 1964, the first-ever Arby’s opened its doors in Boardman, Ohio— exclusively selling roast beef sandwiches, potato chips, and soda. Arby's has gone through many different phases during the franchise's timeline - some good, some not so good - but always with delicious roast beef

I love everything about Arby's. The meat, the buns, the curly fries, the sauce station. Yum.

No one ever seems to talk about it, but Arby's has shockingly good mozzarella sticks. Like, legitimately better than many sit-down restaurants good.

When I worked at Arby's I got a kitten. I would sneak home a couple of slices of roast beef to give him. From that day on, whenever we brought home Arby's, he'd beg like a dog until I shared with him. ❤
  • The 4 for $10 roast beef sandwiches still draw me into Arby's occasionally. I miss the potato cakes.

Whenever I see comedies or sitcoms tease Arby's for being terrible, it always confuses me...I've always loved them, and I've never known anyone who hated their food!

Arbys's endured by literally being better than most fast food places, and offering their sandwiches at a great price.

I worked at an Arby's in college. Honesty it was easier and less hassle than McDonald's and Burger King. I mean the best seller is literally just sliced meat on a bun. Couldnt get any easier than that. 😂
  • Unpopular opinion, would rather have an Arby's roast beef than any fast food burger. Also Arby's curly fries are my favorite fast food fries.

"I'm so hungry, I could eat at Arby's" from the Simpsons is another good Arby's joke.

I had an Arby's gyro on a road trip last week. It was delicious. I was really shocked.

My go to is always the French dipped sandwich. It’s my favorite.

I like the fact that Arby's is probably the only drive thru fast food outfit to have cold sandwiches. I like the turkey ranch and bacon in the Summer. I don;t want a hot sandwich when it's hot outside. In the Winter, good ol' beef and cheddar or reg roast beef. They need bring back potato cakes. I love potatoe cakes!
  • "There's nothing more American than two restaurants in Ohio fighting over which one is more Texan." Truer words about the mentality of Ohio/Ohioans have never been spoken.

I wish they'd bring back their potato cakes. Those were so good, and nobody else had them!

I never understood the hate on Arby's. They are better than the major burger chains in essentially every way and are less deep fried BS so they are "healthier" for you even if in the most minor way.

I've always liked Arby's. I don't know where the hate comes from. Beef n cheddar, curly fries and a jamocha shake. Mmmm.

I actually like Arby's food. Their roast beef and cheddar, curly fries, and French dips are yummy

I love Arby’s. Hands down, their curly fries are the best in the nation. Their roast beef sandwiches are great, and I also love their market fresh sandwiches options. Sometimes, you just want something different than a burger, and Arby’s fits the bill. I’m glad there’s an Arby’s a few blocks from my house.

I haven't had Arby's in a few years, but I do have fond memories. My go to was the larger (whatever they call it) Roast Beef with a couple of packets of Arby Sauce and a side of Curly Fries. That was a great, if pricy, meal!
