The entire world making jokes about Taco Bell giving you digestion problems always made me feel like I was going crazy. In my experience, Taco Bell is by far the least likely fast food joint to upset my stomach. My friends just laugh at me when I say that and I feel like Ralphie on Santa’s lap in a Christmas Story as they mock me. I’ll assume any likes on this comment imply that you agree with me and are much appreciated. It will make me feel less insane.
  • I rarely eat fast food but my favorite menu item at Taco Bell is the Nacho Belle Grande. My late husband who came from the former USSR told me that the joke over there was which fast food restaurant wasn't invited to open over there - Taco Bell - because they once had a tag line that said "Run for the border", and Soviet authorities didn't want their citizens getting any ideas about running for the borders over there.

The fact I am at a Taco Bell watching the history of Taco Bell is beyond meta at this point. 😂

God bless taco bell. For years this was the closest thing to Mexican food I could get in my area. Also the $1 beef burrito kept me fed all through high school and college.

What about the Doritos Locos Tacos chips? Chips inspired by a taco which was itself inspired by chips... which were inspired by nachos. Also was expecting some info on the semi-exclusivity of Baja Blast.

Actually broke down and hit a Taco Bell drive thru just a few days ago. Figured I'd get my old favorite from back in the day, the natcho bell grande. Flavor was pretty much what I remembered but the portion had shrunk way down and the price was way up. Another victim of "shrinkflation"!

Even though I live somewhere that I can get authentic Mexican tacos, I still crave me some Taco Bell sometimes.

I'd like to see a weird history food for Bojangles. Great work as always

What a perfect video for Super Bowl Sunday. This channel is still CRAZY underrated and always delivers straight banger after banger video.
  • Thank you Glen Bell for making my life exponentially better. 🙌🌮
  • Drunk at 3AM? That explains why so many comedians mention it

I worked at Taco Bell in the mid 80's. We did all our own cooking. Nothing came pre-done The beef was 100,%

The Mexican Pizza is my favorite item! Sounds like Taco Bell brought it back!
  • This was a really good video, Weird History! Speaking of tacos, everyone knows about Jack In The Box's [in]famous tacos, but not enough talk about the history of the restaurant. While Jack was always the mascot [except in the 80s], it wasn't until the 1970s that he became a full-fledged character. He also had a group of friends: Onion Ring Thing, Hamburgermeister, Small Fry, Secret Sauce Agent, and The Shakes [a milkshake band]. They were called the Jack In The Box Bunch and had a TON of merch during the 70s. The most popular were the bendable buddies. Another tidbit: the JITB Bunch were voiced by Paul Winchell, better known as Tigger from Winnie The Pooh. Honestly, Jack In The Box's history in general is interesting [ it was briefly renamed Monterey Jack's in the 80s], but I find not enough people talk about Jack In The Box's 70s characters and ads. Also, they roasted Mcdonald's before Wendy's did [with the Watch Out Mcdonald's slogan]. I'm a 2000s person but I've always prefered 1970s/1980s/1990s commercials, which is how I found out about various advertising mascots.

1990's Taco Bell was the best. They sold 6-pack tacos for under 5 bucks.🌮🔔
  • Love the Johnnycash reference. Worked at Canada Trust at the time. It took us a long time after the name changed to stop saying things like " have to load Johnny" or " have to balance Johnny."
  • My favorite Taco Bell menu item is the long lost Bell Beefer. It was Taco Bell's spin on the Sloppy Joe. Here in my city abandoned Taco Bell restaurant buildings have been repurposed as independent taco shops. One has even been converted into a car insurance business.

When I went down to Michoacán, Mexico and showed my family what a Taco Bell taco 🌮 looks like, it was as foreign to them as fortune cookies are foreign to the Chinese!
  • Still have every Taco Bell dog, in the wrapper, still functional. 😂 Last time I checked, they're still not worth squat.

I miss the Taco Bell enchirito -- a fast food burrito mojado. When I was little they even put little olive slices on top. Those were the days.
