    New idioms related to L that I learnt today- 1. Left me in the urch - Abandoned me when I needed help 2. Lump in throat - a highly emotional state 3. Lay bare - expose 4. Let the grass grow under one's feet - to remain idle/ lazy 5. Level playing field- A situation in which everyone has a fair & equal chance of succeeding 6. Like a fish out of water - Uncomfortable 7. Lily - livered/pigeon hearted/ chicken hearted/ yellow bellied, cowardly - Not brave, timid 8. Looking for a needle in a haystack - doing something impossible 9. Left out in cold/ give a cold shoulder/ cold response - to be ignored 10. Lend an ear/ Pay heed to - to pay attention to 11. Lock, stock and barrel - completely 12. Lead someone by the nose - to dominate someone 13. Late in the day - too delayed to be of any use 14. Left- handed compliment - insulting remark appearing as a praise 15. Like a dying duck in a thunderstorm - dejected / sad 16. Look down upon - to consider someone inferior/ insult 17. Live from hand to mouth - to have enough money to live on and nothing extra 18. Long in the tooth - to be old 19. Look one's goose - put an end to one's chances of success 20. Lame duck - An unsuccessful person or thing 21.
