  • The Emu and Kangaroo were chosen for our Coat of Arms, not only because the are unique to Australia, but because neither the Emu or Kangaroo and walk backwards, symbolising that Australia will continue to move forward!
  • @Jeni10
I heard an American respond to a Canadian showing a photo of a bald eagle he took in Canada. The American didn’t believe him and said the bald eagle is only in the US. The Canadian replied, “No, we have them in Canada too. They don’t know there’s a border! 😂🇨🇦”
  • 85% of us use the internet. The other 15% just have a really shitty ISP.
  • You have never tried to open a field gate being guarded by a mature red kangaroo - you won't, you will wait until he moves on because he will be 6'9" tall, weigh 250 pounds of pure muscle and pecs like you would not believe and he's mean enough to rip you from sternum to pelvis with a flick of his back legs, Nope, he's far more dangerous than your Bald Eagle and he won't back off because he can't go backwards.
  • Life expectancy is longer because of our health care system. Here in Australia, you don't have to die if you don't have private health care. The private and public systems work in tandem.
  • I once heard the bald eagle described as a glorified seagull
  • Not all Australians are rich. Most are just getting along the best we can. Fortunately for the true strugglers, we have a safety net.
  • THE BALD EAGLE, HA THAT'S NOT AN EAGLE OUR WEDGE TAIL EAGLE WOULD EAT THE AMERICAN BUDGIE OOPS EAGLE FOR LUNCH
  • You have to call it "Aussie Rules" Ryan if you wanna be an honorary Australian.
  • Surprisingly, no one appears to know that education is also a major export for Australia.
  • OZ life expectancy is longer because of the exorbitant cost of funerals, we cant afford to die
  • YOU ALL think universal healthcare is expensive, WE ALL think the cost of just one aircraft carrier is expensive. Priorities, y’know?
  • USA spends 17% of GDP on healthcare yet it’s not universal. Australia spends 10% of GDP on a Universal Health Care system. You’ll find other countries with a universal health care systems are similar. Private health care in the USA is profit driven and layered in administration fees and complex plans. And in Australia, we do have a supplementary Private health care system, so far those that think we have no choice in Australia, that’s incorrect. Americans assume they have the best of everything until they realise they don’t….
  • We say we're 52% Christian, probably actually closer to 30% Christian. More like 40%+ no religion
  • @mrd4785
Elon Musk is as South African as Rupert Murdoch is Australian. I’ll concede Mel Gibson had a few early years in the US, but we’re claiming him too, anytime he is sober.
  • According to the most recent census, about 44% of those who responded claimed to be christian. Note that that question is not compulsory when you complete the census form. "No religion" was the response of almost 39%. That may become the majority position by the next census.
  • The life expectancy, can’t help thinking that it may have something to do with guns?!
  • Neither USA or Australia have an "official" language, but the defacto language of both is English
