I headed into the city and went to Bookoff in Manhattan again. They had a new Gashapon area! Gashapon is very popular in Japan. They are vending machines that contain collectible toys. You insert money or tokens into the machine and turn the handle to release a capsule with a prize.

I purchased 10 tokens for $20 which was the minimum and kinda pricey. A nice Japanese lady who works there showed me how to get them. You can buy tokens with either your card or cash. Since I was in a bit of a rush and there was so much to choose from; I was only able to get three prizes. They weren't what I wanted but nevertheless, I was still happy.

If you're in Manhattan, stop by Bookoff and check out the new Gashapon machines. If you're lucky, you might get the figure you want.
