I think a bigger issue is having over 30 g of sugar in a Pepsi lol
  • I remember there was a time when Koreans used to get a lot of hate for eating dog meat. Whenever a society rises, there are bound to be some people who would not like to see that happening. They would go to great extent to malign the Food Culture of that country because food is considered an element of soft power. That's why when i see people online ranting about Indian food causing diarrhoea especially highlighting the issues related to hygiene in Indian food, i try to remind myself that we aren't unique in this and that it happened with everyone.

I remember when the MSG scare came out in the 80's. I regularly ate at Chinese restaurants and loved the cuisine since I was a kid in the 70's. However, once a became an adult, I did notice one side effect - whenever I had Chinese food with alchohol, I would get bad headaches. So I stopped having beer with Chinese food and never had another headache when eating Chinese food.

I've heard that it's not that people consume too much salt, but they don't consume enough potassium to balance it out. They don't eat enough greens. I'd love to hear a story on this.

I, my whole family and friends stopped eating Chinese food because of this myth that Ajinomoto is very harmful.

Just like coconut oil. Western countries linked coconut oil to coronary artery. Ulterior motive.

Uncle Roger will be hosting an MSG party now.
  • Thanks for telling this story. The same is true for Genetically Modified food. After more than 100 years there is not a single scientific evidence that Genetically Modified Food has any slightest of a health danger or even a symptom or side effect.

Same thing with eggs, back in 60's and 70's some people mentioned eggs had too much bad cholesterol but after 50 years now studies are showing that Cholesterol in eggs is good for humans.

To all those who ordered Chinese food without MSG😂

MSG is not harmful for our health. It is just like salt which provide us taste.😋😋
  • The world over? Ha! I grew up with Ajinomoto in Guyana and lived in Brazil 12 years, I cook with it daily and use very little salt!

MSG is health Hazzard.. it happened the 1st time and couldn't connect it to MSG. Happened again and this time it was an eye opener. Third time, I knew, my love of Chinese Bouffet was going to get me killed. It was for sure an MSG that had caused the worst symptoms which I literally thought I was going to die..LITERALLY..I couldn't feel anything, the worst part was throwing up to an extent of running out of energy completely. I literally needed an extra help to get my self back again.. NEVER again..

MSG can make you thirsty lasting hours, will never ever go back to the same restaurant using MSG.
