At $1.6 million, the Tour boasts the richest prize fund ever for a series of online chess events. Players from around the world compete to win 9 titles and the crown of overall Tour Champion. Nowhere else has this level of competition.

Players compete in 6 “Regular” and 3 “Major” online rapid chess tournaments spread out over the Tour season. Two Regulars will be followed by a Major with the pattern repeated until all are completed. Regulars will feature 16 players in a prelim round and then only 8 players qualify to the knockout. Majors will feature 8 qualifying players in a simple all-play-all format. Cash prizes are available for placings in each event. The player who finishes top of the Tour leaderboard will be declared the overall Tour Champion.

  • I remember Prag mentioning in one of his interviews when he had just become GM that Carlsen is his favourite Chess player. Imagine the joy of defeating Carlsen so convincingly. The kid has definitely turned over a new leaf.
  • As if defeating Magnus with the Black Pieces wasn‘t impressive enough already, amazing work by Praggo!
  • @Kali9030
When I saw the news, I thought he was lucky and was under belief that Magnuson made error during the game. But after watching this, I realized, he was mercilessly beaten with black. This is on another level. 🙌
  • He didn't just defeat Magnus, he destroyed him. Very impressive victory, well done!
  • @ChadRaush
Not only did he beat Magnus. He baited him into capturing two pawns to get the victory.
  • @Robi2009
I wanna see Praggu become World Champion sometime just to see commentators trying to pronounce his name :)
  • the fact that prago has to play the game 3:00 am local time adds on to the resilience he showed in this match
  • I know you are not supposed to count, but how many moves ahead did Pragga "see" when he found the winning move? The analysis is incredible.
  • @utarian7
I can't even calculate what professional players RESIGN over. They're that good that they actually RESIGN over what most of us can't calculate.
  • @NotRyan.
Magnus also defeated chess leaders when he was young. Now it's his turn, the circle goes around every generation.
  • Magnus: I will be the first to hit 2900. Pragu: Hold my apple juice.
  • I've been waiting for that for very very long! Since Praggu became a grandmaster! Love indian players!
  • "If you can capture this pawn and not lose to the attack it is probably a winning position . If not , it is probably a losing position " - agadmator 2022 🙂
  • This is big news in India. He has become a celebrity in India now. Hopefully, he can put this to good use. Thanks for annalyzing this game. Appreciate it. Was waiting for it.
  • Wow !! Pragga had two chances to beat Magnus and did it, with great style, at the 2nd opportunity. Fantastic play by Pragga with no mistakes from Magnus - that I saw ! - at all. Just amazing. Thanks Agad.
  • This was so hype to watch live. Having the Magnus livestream on and seeing them be amazed at the computer evaluation, having to look at the computer suggestions to even know what the best moves are and then have Pragg actually play them
