I'm watching this old match in 2019, and what a treat it is to hear the commentators talk about Lin Dan's accomplishments thus far (2008 Olympic Gold). First game was intense! Second game was a throwaway, and the third game started off strong. Great match!

Bravo Peter & Lin Dan: what a beautiful match. Clash of the titans. This is what true badminton is about and they showed some great sportmanship.

Im still amused at the age of 34 he still manages to play in the semifinal of the 2011 World Champs.

man, you can't blame him on being biased, of course he's biased - he says in the very beginning that he has coached Gade in the past. You don't have to be a genius to know about his affiiations. I still think it's very interesting what he has to say. And he is always fair, also giving Dan credit. Personally, I prefer biased commentators to boring commentators.

They say "You can't compare era's" I'm sorry, there is no player that was able to keep up with Lin Dan from 2007-2011. He was so fast, so powerful, had the perfect touch, unbelievable net play, and basically "invented" the diving defense that everyone loves. They may not be able to compare era's but I will. There is no player that has ever played better than Lin Dan in his prime, and we may never see another player like him or Chong Wei.

1:06:50 excellent anticipation from Gade This match is brilliant. A thriller from start to finish. Gade definitely earned Dan's respect
  • Respect to Peter Gade! What a great game in his late athlete career!

LD is emotional but has a good respect for every player in badminton..
  • @Danishcreed
insane that Peter played like that against LD after his match against T.Nguyen the day before - he's a 35-year-old single player but he's still challenging 28-year-old LD :D

Peter Gade has many virtues of an athlete, insistence, hard-work as well as his persistent pursuit of perfection. I am not saying that LCW and Lin Dan or you name it don't process theses virtues, but the virtues glitter brightly when one has to come across so many failures without tasting the height of championship, though his hard-work makes him well-deserved one. All the athletes work damn hard, and I cannot help feeling sorry for those who never make their way to their aspiration.
  • PG will be never forgotten as a bmton legend both of Europe and the world~
  • @jibinmoncy004
the defencer vs attacker......love u PG....super DAN is always my hero
  • @luf4rall
Amazing how many levels LCW and Lin Dan were ahead of the field. Peter Gade was still ranked number 3 but he was a heavy underdog whenever he played the other 2.
  • @eugene4002
I just like both of their playing styles. So elegant.

The game that everyone has waited and no disapointment !!!
