  • This is not the worst abuse of power or misuse of taxpayer money, but it deserves an honorable mention for the sheer stupidity.

Why aren't charges being set against the Sheriff for Fraud Waste & Abuse of public funds? Fire Him.
  • If this is the final chapter, then it is a miscarriage of justice. Both the California and Indiana officials involved should be criminally prosecuted and should be required to personally compensate Frakes AND the taxpayers and lose their certifications. This is NOT a case of "no harm no foul".
  • It’s good to know that absolutely no one will be held accountable for disrupting a honest man’s life and costing him hundreds of thousands of dollars he most likely doesn’t have. Every officer involved should be fired and barred from any position of authority from here out and charges should be filed on the retired sherif and anyone who wrote off on this mission of fear, intimidation, and official oppression.
  • What good is the report if those who abused their power (including those who tried to cover it up) aren’t held accountable? And still to this day refuse to acknowledge they did anything wrong? VOTE THEM OUT!
  • Using police from another state as your puppets to get you a car you stopped making payments on. The only part of this story that isn't corrupt and dirty is the custom shop.
  • Who got fired? Who got sued for frivolously spending public tax dollars? I’m guessing the answer is no one. This isn’t a story at all, it’s a tragedy!
  • @Rizky06
Commissioner Gordon would have never let this 💩happen.
  • So they waste all this money and no one gets punished??? I wonder how well they would respond to a home burglary for an average citizen?? Disgusting!!

Lawyer for the city: "I guess I'm not trying to be cagey but it's not eminently clear to me that anything went wrong per se." What we see: A lawyer being cagey.
  • @stickyfox
Aganostou didn't just "not receive the car he ordered." He failed to make payments on it for over half a year, and failed to answer when Racop called and asked what was going on. He only got angry and involved his cop buddy after Racop informed him that he'd started work on a paying customer's car after being ghosted by Aganostou. Then he tried to use his money and influence to compel Racop to work on his terms anyway.
  • So, is there going to be Criminal Charges filed against the Ex-Sheriff & Buyer?
  • Don't forget conducting police operations out side their jurisdiction. Everything they did out of state or even out of their county was illegal. This is something the FBI needs to be arresting police and office holders for.
  • @leukybear
They all need to be held accountable. The law should be blind of all influence and money.

6 Months to Investigate. $55k to pay a retired Judge to tell us all what a Chanel 7 news Reporter, Reported! Great Job government! A further waste of Time and Money. The Sheriff should have this taken out of his Retirement. He is the one that got the ball rolling with the Stolen Car task force. The Sheriff is 100% to blame. It was his job to tell his buddy No I can’t do you a favor. He should have to pay! Hold the sheriff accountable
  • People involved need to go to jail. This wasn't an accident or oversight.
  • This news report failed to mention that the deputy DA Marie McLoughlin, that signed off on the warrant that was used for the sheriff to fly deputies to Indiana, refused to answer questions from the investigating judge. Steve Lehto of youtube channel "Lehto's Law" better explains what happened and the judge's investigation.
