The HIP was the 'highlight' of that festival.

I'm lucky to have seen The Hip live twice. Just amazing shows. I lived in a small town in NY close to the Canadian border and The Hip were just a part of life at that time and place. I miss those days. I miss The Tragically Hip.

I was born in the late 80s in NYS. 106.9 the bear out of Ottawa gave you guys to me. Been with this American ever since. Still gives me chills.

Forever missed Gord 🙏. Saw the Hip in concert here in Calgary Canada 🇨🇦 back in 2009 - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BAND! CANADIAN ICONS!!!
  • This showing up when my Facebook memory was from the last show in Edmonton confirms that the Good Gord above smiles upon us to this day. Thanks for the wonderful memories boys.
  • RIP Gord Downie. What an absolute legend! I'm so glad I got to see the final tour!

Love this band! Have been fortunate to have seen them many times and they always put on a great show. My husband and I met them at a “secret location” in early 2000’s after winning entry to a small live show Detroit. They were all humble and friendly-the music was,of course phenomenal. RIP Gord.

Gord Downie is among the most significant figures in Canada as John Lennon is in Britain, Bob Marley is in Jamaica or Bruce Springsteen is in the States. Such a talent. From Road Apples to In Between Evolution was an amazing album run.

I was there flying my Canadian flag 🇨🇦 feeling proud to be Canadian. I was to Gords left between the sound booth and the Much Music riser. ✌️❤️🇨🇦

I'm currently digitizing my copy of the entire weekend. This was such an amazing set. Unfortunately, the signal hiccups at the beginning of this track, and for whatever reason, they never played any of the set on the Overnight broadcast like they did all the other sets. Otherwise, I'd just splice it in. Oh well... Live has a glitch as well, so I guess it's just the way it is.

I basically watched the whole weekend on my cable "hot box" for free. The Hip were definitely one of the highlights.
