0:00 Intro
0:20 A review of randomized control trials of at least 24-month duration.
0:45 There are nutrients/vitamins in fat.
1:30 There was little or no effect on cardiovascular or all-cause mortality by reducing
saturated fat for 2 years.
1:38 Reducing saturated fat possibly reduced cardiovascular events.
4:00 Heart attack risk and saturated fat reduction has no clear correlation.
5:30 Replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fat, carbs, or protein
effects did not differ.
6:15 There may be a prevention of second heart attacks with saturated fat reduction.
7:00 Other cardiovascular events and cancer outcomes effects were very small or unclear.
8:00 Carbohydrates and processed foods are often used to replace saturated fat in the diet.

  • My family has been moving all our dietary options into saturated fats, and we all have been showing health improvements.

I grew up with margarine because my cardiologist father bought into the fake research from the 50's. Don't get me wrong, my father was a great cardiologist and researcher (and I miss him every day) but even he bought the lies that were propagated back then.

The low fat community gloated over the rumor that Atkins died of a heart attack, and it wasn't even true. Atkins died of brain damage from a fall on the ice. I don't think Mike needs to feel bad referring to the heart problem he observed for the conference leader.

It just keeps a comin'. How many lives are we losing to bad advice? Thank you so much for all of the honest work you do! I follow many good docs like Suneel. Butter and eggs be good, highly processed food and added sugar be bad.

    Animal based vindicated again 👍🏻
  • Our species has been eating a saturated fat rich diet since time immemorial. Why would we be the only species that does not thrive on a “wild-type” diet that mirrors our genetic antecedents?

Repeating is worthwhile since MDs still do not know this.
  • @cowatarian.
Always add your videos to all my playlists. Crucial life saving info. Thank you Mike!

Really appreciate your level headed approach to information analysis and delivery. Makes it all so much more believable. đź‘Ź

I don't know why I thought this channel was plant-based but I'm straightened out after your last few videos. Sub'd! Let's get this message out! I've watched hundreds of testimonial videos of folks improving or resolving so many health issues including reversing CAC scores by switching to a low carb, high fat lifestyle. Great stuff!

Thank you Mike, hope you and your family have a brilliant Easter Weekend.

Thanks for the update. High-quality RCTs are very important when researching risks versus benefits of specific diets.

Key to changing reality is the data you base it on. Once you learn that (healthy) saturated fats (grass fed beef, salmon, ...) provide ideal fuel for mitochondria (and especially when you combine it the recycling effects of autophagy by using stored fat) and how damaging refined foods (sugars, flours, oils, ... ) are, it changed your feelings about them.

This research is eye opening, I also read the research, clearly there is almost no difference in cardiovascular health benefit by cutting the saturated fats but when you read the commentary of the article written by the authors they claim reducing the saturated fats will be beneficial. This is why you always need to read the research data and tables yourself and ignore what the author comments. Out of 8 categories they checked (all cause mortality, cardiovascular event, stroke, chd event, chd mortality, myocardial infarctions, Non-Fatal MI, combined cardiovascular events) there is almost zero difference happens by reducing saturated fat, but they only saw in one of them some reduction with not clear evidence and std deviation is very high. Even though the data is absolutely clearly showing that this intervention is completely unnecessary, they still commented people to reduce their saturated fat and eat more plant foods and seed oils. This is why you should be extremely careful with these “scientists”, if their own research does not support their belief system, they’ll still find a way to communicate the other way
