In the liberal community’s ‘brave new post-4 June universe’, the RSS chief is seen as less illiberal — and more acceptable — than the Modi-Shah BJP. Why this is an incredible misreading of the situation. Watch Shekhar Gupta’s view in thus week's National Interest.

The whole Washing machine with ED CBI, breaking parties to form govt and basically sacrificing long term for short term gains made some core voters angry with BJP since they were compromising their principles

This was much needed counseling to bjp which was sidelining regional leaders one after another . After this modi shah has put an experienced deputy cm of bjp - bjd government alliance as CM of bjp government in odisha instead of putting a new first time MLA as a puppet CM .

Just imagine, if BJP had did reached 400 or even close to it, would these people who are now coming up with 'analysis' and opinions, still made the same statements? With the advantage of hindsight, everyone is an expert.

BJP should close it's washing machine. And should give power to state leadership. State leaders know more about state politics than Modi Shah.
  • Without RSS, BJP is rootless, & without BJP RSS is fruitless. Now the root has questioned the fruit why it has turned sour & not palatable as per the root's expectation. Alternatively, now RSS wants to change the Prime trunk that has made the fruit sour. It is a difficult proposition considering the aggressive posture of the twin leaders, but everything is possible , when RSS decides & means business . Since RSS is a well entrenched organization, BJP just cannot stand on its own without RSS, especially in the rural India. But RSS is capable of producing another leader of the stature & the figure that it wants.

Inducting so many non ideological people to the party is not even acceptable to the supporter of Hindutva like me. BJP should remain ideological and chose and train its workers carefully. It should remain less corrupt that's its only sell.
  • RSS is always good organization. They don't hesitate to criticism. They're not radical. But they're against Radicals. That's why BJP grown with RSS guidance. BJP is nothing without RSS sacrifice

It is not about RSS attempting to change NDA leadership. It is about who can lead next NDA government if this NDA government falls within next 2 years!

Agree 💯 RSS & BJP common workers were unhappy because of Washing machine of BJP Top leadership It was unnecessary to bring corrupts to Party which had promised to be different than Congress

I have always said Amit Shah is the weak link in the entire RSS BJP collective. He lacks basic understanding of the country and the nuances within the different cultures. He is very uniformist and mirrors the typical North Indian attitude. He lacks the genuineness of Gadkari or intelligence of Jaishankar or even the temperament of Vajpayee. He is rather very impulsive, aggressive and arrogant in his approach.

A political party having mentoring like this shows the internal democracy in the party
  • In democratic country everyone,s voice must be considered rather recognising the voices of two people.
  • The difference between Bajpayee and Modi is that Atalji followed Moral values in his politics and Modiji was just opposite

I am amazed to see (INDIA bloc) poeple are already writing-off BJP 😂. It retained it vote share, explanded into new territories, still 2.5x of the 2nd largest party despite a 10 year anti-incumbency. It got lessons for its arrogance, jod-tod, miss-use of agencies, etc. And will be swift to act on it. Its more interesting to see till when INDIA bloc will be able to stick together as now it's a compulsion for them to look united in front of voters while fighting internally.

When gupta ji says that oppostion will need to work much harder if they have to defeat Modi ....how would he feel if Arnab Goswami got Modi to freeze the account of the Print..then poach DK Singh .. then some random commentator passing a comment that "Shekhar Gupta: needs to work much harder to defeat Arnab Goswami"... Of course no one would really want to poach a RSS pracharak like DK Singh...Shekhar Gupta quotes NDTV Walk the Tallk... but forgets how Modi used Adani to Slience NDTV..... Guptaji ...

BJP RSS need to address the 'Beti Bachao' promise. They both need to get away from the patriarchal Image.
