  • The Norway prison cells look better than some college dorms I've seen.
  • Me: Why am I watching this? I'll never end up in jail. My brain: Just in case.
  • The prison cells here in Norway are supposed to make the prisoners life almost the same as if they would not be in prison and it works very well.
  • I quite like the "farm your own food" idea if the prisoners are the ones working on the farm.
  • My uncle went to prison (i live on russia) and he was sentenced 4 years. When he was released he never committed a crime again. He described it exactly as this video described it. Sorry Bright Side, but BE AMAZED has taken 1st place!
  • i've studied about Norway prisons and i think we can all learn from it, rather than stripping away criminals their basic human needs and basically dehumanising them Norway creates a prison that allows all criminals to be able to reform and have a second chance in society. i heard that they also earn money by working within the prison so when they've finished serving their sentence they're able to afford food and other necessities out of prison rather than worrying about having no money.
  • I did 30 days in a county jail once in 2008. Bologna every day for lunch, sometimes they would cut it thicker and call it "breakfast ham" or they would put some pepper in it and call it salami, and the cheese never melts. I still haven't eaten a slice of bologna since then.
  • Imagine the guards in Norway just hearing the prisoners raging and screaming at their PC.

    If I ever commit a crime, please send me to this kind of prison :) 6:23 ( Japan's prison food ) 14:11 ( Norway's prison cell ) 17:21 ( Philippines' prison exercise ) 19:58 ( Alaska's prison work) and 22:55 ( Japan's prison learning ) 😎😁

Remember that Norwegian prisons are to rehabilitate, not punish
  • Everything about Norway is great, even prison life. No wonder people seem to always be happy in Norway.

Now i feel bad for people who got framed and sent to bad prisons
  • I worked in the Texas prisons as a guard at that time it was not fun how close we came to full riots due to the food budget.
  • I've been to jail in the us unjustly for mental illness. I have to say no matter how bad the criminal, I still strongly believe in the sanctity of their human rights, and believe that providing a less-than humane environment for the incarcerated reflects badly upon us all as a culture.

I just remember as a poor Norwegian student renting a small student apartment where I had my own small bedroom and shared bathroom and kitchen (8 ppl shared), and it cost me 600 USD a month. I watched how our prisons were and thought to myselv that our prisoners have an easier life than us students. After living shitty for several years with hardly any privacy or food we graduate and then have trouble with finding a job, being in a deep dept. I graduated my masters degree in 2018, and I have only gotten 1 intervju, from actively serching for jobs (and having great grades and recommendation letters). I work as a teacher now, but still haven't been able to pay back any of my student loans. I wish the state would spend more money on students, or at least the same amount as the prisoners.
