In 2009, the Brits finally had enough of being lorded over by aristocracy. The government gave the hereditary peerage the chop, evicting them from those hallowed halls - The House of Lords. Add to that the high cost of living in a stately home, and your lord and ladyship days were numbered. But as history has shown us, you can't keep a true, blue blood down. The landed gentry were ready for one last battle to remain relevant.

This story contains scenes of upper class privilege and moments of sublime eccentricity.

  • You can't punish people for being born into any situation. You can however raise them to do good things.. being an arrogant, unintelligent buffoon isn't something one should strive for.

I love how the son is so pompous about inheriting a mansion that his parents can't afford. 😂
  • @Blue1Sapphire
Telling your mother to shutup while the father says nothing, says it all about this family.
  • The "aristocrats" seem like they'd fit in a trailer park near you, no matter WHERE that might be.
  • @charliej766
Son yells at his mother to “shut up!” while his father sits and does nothing. They are the perfect example of style and grace.
  • Eccentric behavior is only "eccentric" if you have wealth. If you behave eccentrically and are poor; you're considered to be insane.

I just read about Lord Fulford on Wikipedia. He failed at everything he ever did, so he decided to go into politics. Apparently, they didn't want him there either.

As a French (who loves English people) I laughed at « we’re genetically bred to hate the French »! These people are so funny, still living in the past with the same mentality. Move on! We’re not so bad!😂 I was also flabbergasted by the arrogance of the young boy who seems to be a good for nothing and proud of it.😂
  • The ignorance of a teenager. "Oh, you just got money. We've had it for ages." Completely oblivious that his father can't afford the upkeep and confessed that the finances have been on a slippery slope downwards for centuries.
  • @PeterHonig.
it is ironic how these folks have a such a strong self-bestowed sense of importance in society, when the rest of us see them for what they really are; excess baggage.
  • What pompous assholes. I love the son talking about "old money" vs "new money". They don't have any money! They don't work. I love how they talk about the estate and it's conservation as the house crumbles around them.
  • @verseau8360
The best thing that could happen to that young and creepy future heir would be that his family lost everything and he was forced to get a job as a stockboy at a Sainburys. Only hope for his personally and soul.
  • @mhtbfecsq1
The presenter exuded more class and grace than any of the aristocrats she interviewed.
  • @cross75man75
I love him saying old money is better than new money, when he has no money.🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • @brambam
You can tell they'd never have the intellect to get out of a council estate if they didn't inherit everything they owned
  • What’s crazy is the house is dilapidated, yet he has so many assets and so much land, he could easily generate a massive income selling things off and renting space. Lady Chichester is a nice bit of crumpet as well.
  • @janetrains83
They may have a wealth of real estate and titles, but they are poverty-stricken in spirit and depth of character.
  • The sense of entitlement and lack of regret at the thought of throwing his sister out of her childhood home convinces me that it will not end well for the young chap. Nor should it.
  • @Gurkha73able
The thing I love about the British aristocracy is that they look down on all of us equally, regardless of race or class
  • Their ancestors has worked and paid for these mansion/ castles but the people who inherited cannot afford to maintain it. And they are falling to pieces.
