Video that inspired me to go after this challenge came from @Not_Harvard Shout out to that legend

Takibo 2 Years into the future "Whaaaat's up legends? Today I'm going to be doing the 2 billion bug count major order solo, in one dive and I will be doing it with the new war bond dlc weapon which is a toothpick..."
  • @Bleekerrocks
"before they kill off my favorite weapon." It's sad that this is such a relatable and relevant statement...
  • ive never seen them, but those people who say that "if you get more than 300 kills youre playing wrong" are just plain wrong themselves. play how you want, and getting kills is fun. thats why we play games, is to have fun
  • @mohamedaanish
Your gameplay completely blow my mind. You’re possibly the best helldiver ive seen. I try to mimic your gameplay tactics, spacing etc and I confidently say that i can hang in level 9 in a squad without dying at all most of the times. These videos are appreciated, so thank you.
  • I like how they nerf weapons every patch, so now we're conditioned to thinking that anything good is going to be nerfed😢
  • @DataCraftsman
Bro you were on peak performance that whole game. A noticeable step up from your normal actions per minute, your accuracy, your strategem speed and placement, your movement. etc from start to finish. Just incredible.

With any multiplayer pve focused shooter, it's generally a better idea for the developers to focus on buffing weak weapons than it is to nerf strong weapons. Being a team-based shooter, its also good if these buffs and nerfs help define the niche for that weapon. That way, different missions should encourage different playstyles which should require and reward the use of different loadouts. The extreme effectiveness of the incendiary breaker for example is actually a symptom of the design of the bugs and bug missions. The issue is the incendiary breaker allows you to more or less cleanly divide the bugs into 2 categories: bile titans & chargers vs everything else. But the thing is that bile titans and chargers are dealt with by the same weapons. Combine that with the fact that you're never forced or even encouraged to engage with bug chaff enemies at range means that whatever weapon happens to best fit the incendiary breaker's current niche, and how strong that weapon happens to be, effectively dictates the difficult scaling for all bug missions.

The nerfing didn't bother me for the most part—until the Eruptor shrapnel changed. If the dev in charge of balancing thinks the Eruptor is as effective as it was before the patch, then for the first time, I think the game is in trouble in the long run. At one point, I justified in my head the nerfing because it forced team loadout planning. Cool. I like that. Sucks for soloing, sure, but at least it had a purpose. But they aren't balancing for niche strengths... They seem to balance to ensure no weapon is great at doing anything. Except for a select few support weapons. It's not about meta, it's that the balancing encourages meta. For example, how can I justify using the arc thrower now on 7+ difficulty against the bots? The niche it served in my team was to stun multiple hulks while the big killers could mop them up. It wasn't OP at all, though, because my team would have to position itself in such a way that I didn't zap them. Also, stun-locking the hulks would leave me vulnerable to flanking... Now the hulks can't be stun-locked as effectively. And I just know I would even put money on it; once they fix the misfire bug, they are going to further nerf it. Because on paper, it is very powerful. However, because of the danger of taking out teammates and RoF, it has situational drawbacks. The biggest problem with all of this is that it seems like the weapon balancing is fighting the design of the game. The game wants you to be ready for anything. It doesn't tell you what you are facing during loadout. But the weapon balancing they are using forces you to have specific strategems in your team's loadout. You end up with a very small list of consistently viable loadouts... that than get nerfed because everyone is using it. I think AH needs to take a step back and ensure that the weapon balance and the game design match.
  • is it sad that we now associate fun with inevitable nerfs and feeling bad? i don't see how that helps us as customers in a live service game. it just pushes us away.
  • @Fox10Tango
You're not playing wrong, you're playing the way you want to play. Period. Dive on dude. 🤘
  • @Xaiken
Nerfs are a part of balancing but the team in charge of balance at Arrowhead are dropping the ball constantly and I don't trust Alexus knowing his reputation with Hello Neighbor 2 and the dumpster fire he left it.
  • @edykiro459
" How many kills we can get before they kill off this beauty" Man that's just sad. And I know it will happen, one by one the most fun weapons are getting destroyed, and I don't understand why. We're running out of options for harder difficulties, idk what we're supposed to do, throw the bugs our helmets? I just hope they change direction, and modify stuff with more care and feedback.
  • @Akiet
At this point, they should revert the changes to the normal breaker if they're going to nerf the incendiary one.
  • Now that dot damage is fixed it's time to nerf dot damage weapons
  • @Earthboundmike
I mean, the incendiary shotgun was goated before the fire fix honestly.
  • @ByOdinsBeard15
I've been thinking they were gonna nerf the Breaker incendiary for a while now. It's just a straight upgrade to the normal breaker in every way, more damage, DoT, and fires more before reloading. Hopefully they don't go overboard like with the eruptor.
  • @air5723
I own this game. I can play it whenever i want. Instead, I've spent more time watching your content than actually playing myself. Your gameplay is just astounding and so great to watch!
  • @ddasdfghjkl01
This is also my go to setup, it only struggle in bile spewer planet though. The spawn rate is crazy now even with support backpack the grenade can't handle all the bile spewer spawn.
  • @TysoniusRex
First, thanks so much for your videos: They’re informative, inspiring and fun to watch! Regarding the breaker incendiary, yeah, I’m sure you’re right. It’s my standard load out for bugs, usually disappointed with other primaries. Have recently had lots of success with the flamethrower, all thanks to your videos! I’m not a very good player, so if I can succeed with incendiaries I’m sure they’ll be nerfed. It’s true that we’ll find other weapon combos, but I think at some point it will go from fun to just a grind: Kind of like your last video with the eruptor. So, I would guess I’ll be done with the game in another month or so. It’s too bad, because it has provided many, many hours of fun gameplay to date.
