Hi friends :D
Today...I'm getting very, very vulnerable. This is my story on how I lost 77 lbs. I didn't lose all my weight in 3-4 months. It took me longer, but I had a different fight. I had to battle my bad relationship with food, build my confidence, and better my health. This is a topic I usually keep to myself about but one of my resolutions this year was to open up more. So here I am putting myself out there, in hopes that maybe someone relates to me & finds comfort & motivation in this. I've been there! I know exactly where you are and I am here to tell you that IT IS possible! Since its a common question, i’m 5’2”.

Part 2- what I did to lose weight + what ate

"if you don't love yourself, then the journey is not over" yes. wow. very much yes.
  • There is literally NO secret! Changing your lifestyle takes sooo much commitment and determination!!!!

not being confident is probably the worst feeling ever. looking in the mirror, no matter what you wear nothing makes you look good😭 hitting that plateau IS THE WORST & sooo unmotivating😭🥺

“Prisoner in my own body” Wow...that hit me hard

    - commitment and patience - moderation with food(healthy relationship with food) - weight yourself once a week but don’t get obsessed with it - eat breakfast to not have a big lunch and dinner. It’s also quite important - breakfast: full - lunch: healthy food - dinner: lightest meal of the day - in the begging she did cardio and fat burn workout - waterrrrrr - cute workout clothes to motivate to workout - supportive bra - no equipment in the begging but she bought dumbbells, ankle weights, resistance bands and yoga mats - music

I'm at 200, I run out of breath just talking or putting body lotion on. This video is so inspiring.

  • Just remember that ice doesn’t melt until the temperature hits 32 degrees F. Weight loss is like being an ice block at 25 degrees F. You may not see the visible work from 25-31 degrees, but that work is necessary to get you to 32 degrees when the changes really happen.
  • Yes! being addicted to junk food is a REAL thing. People always think its as simple as just not eating the junk food. Sugar is addicting, and junk is very addicting. It takes time, but it doable to cut it out :)
  • ive seen so many videos on youtube about these skinny girls loosing pounds, but they looked like they were already skinny enough, not to be harmful at all, but it feels so good to see someone in my weight range do this, it really just makes me want to cry happy tears knowing that someone like me could do the same regardless of being extremely skinny or extremely fat and that it is in fact very possible.

" I didn't deserve to be a prisoner in my own body". This stuck with me. Thank you for being so honest and congratulations on your weight loss.

Congratulations on your weight loss journey! And I want to congratulate anyone who's starting because that alone is a lot. One of the biggest advice I could give to someone who wants to lose weight is to be ambitious but not TOO overly ambitious when you first start. Be realistic with yourself. If you are rarely active, don't set yourself up to run 3 miles a day or go to the gym everyday to do hardcore workouts. You will just mentally and physically exhaust yourself and you'll hate all the pain you're feeling and that may even stop you from pursuing a healthy life style. Instead, take walks! Try to aim for 5,000 steps a day then increase to 10,000. Eventually you'll slowly build up your stamina and then you can start jogging/running when you feel ready. Don't cut out all sugary/junk food immediately too because your body (and mind) will experience shock. Instead, slowly ease out of it and decrease your size and intakes. PLEASE don't immediately jump to eating salads or all the healthy food we see everybody eat when they wanna lose weight. That's something you can also ease into later. Just count your calories instead! As someone who was overweight, struggled years of trying to lose weight, and was very physically inactive, this advice of being ambitious but realistic helped a lot!

the number on the scale is probably our worst enemy tbh. sometimes your clothes fits looser and the number doesn’t go down.😭 yes i agree weighing yourself once a week or twice a month is so much better than doing it every single day.

Amazing video, I gained 50lbs over lockdown, started my journey 3 weeks ago and am down 3.8lbs :) Hope to lose at least another 36.2lbs ! UPDATE: I AM DOWN 17lbs now :)
  • an entire box of pizza, plus a big af bag of hot Cheetos, plus dessert. sounds like something i do. this is the reality of binge eaters. Thank you for sharing. I'm starting my weight loss journey so it's comforting to see and listen to someone who's been where I'm at.
  • “I am not a dietitian” As a dietitian, I appreciate the recognition. 💚 Congratulations on your journey. Thank you for being so transparent!

“I didn’t deserve to be a prisoner in my own body.” I like that. Never thought of it that way.

Im 5’5 and was 258lbs in April, today I am 232lbs. I love feeling healthier in general. I go rock climbing, jog/walk, weight lifting, and floor exercises. I also cut out all fast food/junk food and learned how to cook. Getting more protein in, drinking water, and taking vitamins:) super important. It’s just hard cuz I can’t see a difference in myself but I see myself everyday and I’ve lost some inches it’s just I can’t see it. So I’m very hard on myself.
  • Im 305 now , been struggling so hard with consistency!! Thanks for this !!

Your dependence on hot Cheetos was how dependent I was on processed sugar foods, candy, chocolate, energy drinks, and the same thing happened to me. The moment I gave those things up I started having outbursts and I kept crying and just even having negative thoughts as I walked into the gym. I never realized I used sugar as a coping mechanism to not feel certain things or think certain things. This was a great video! Keep up the great work!
