That was without doubt the most poignant model railroad video I've ever watched. Simply brilliant.

I'm sooo glad this popped on my feed. What an incredible video! The history, the layout, the sounds, the photos, the music.. it all hits, and it hits hard. I'm not crying, you're crying! Very well done!
  • I remember watching Milwaukee Road traffic in Dresbach Minnesota back in the 80's great layout and seeing telephone poles along the tracks I miss the Milwaukee Road

Wow!!!!!! What a quality production. The still photos were as captivating as the video shots. The music was,to me, spot on. Don't know if you like Neil Young but I think "Heart of Gold" would have fit in. But The Who always get my attention . Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel were perfect to. Railfanning with good music in the car! Thank you very much.
  • Brilliant video, loved the use of the music, it brought a real feeling to the video and the story behind the line....
  • A beautuful tribute to the greatest railroad we ever had. THANK. YOU!!!!

Fantastic! Heartbreaking at the same time.
  • Beautiful video here! As I fan of The Milwaukee Road's Pacific Extension/Transcon Mainline it greatly pains me to see the once great line now abandoned and forgotten but at the same time wonderful job documenting the story of this line here. I plan on modeling this same line one day.

Your recreation of historical photographs and videos of the line is very enjoyable and well done

15:13: I can assure you that MILW trackage to Tacoma was still very much in service in 1978. I watched the last eastbound trains leave town in March 1980.
  • great video, wish I had seen i western line when it was running
  • Beautiful action on your layout. I was lucky enough to have the Milwaukee Road here in Green Bay and always enjoyed seeing the wide variety of motive power they used. Now let’s get those orange beauties dirtied up a bit 😁😁😁
