Love how this reframes Nanami, because this scene is basically him choosing a life of pain and misery. He now Knows he's gonna die saving someone, can't have a family, and does it anyway.

Everyone gangster till Nanami starts talking about reading books on the beach.

I love how much this small interaction meant to Nanami. As a blue collar worker, all he did was make the rich richer and take his own cut. Compared to her, who probably worked a lot harder for a lot less but provided something meaningful for way more people. That whole "If both suck, I'd prefer doing the work I'm better at" was all a cover. What Nanami really thought was "If I'm going to work, I'd rather do something that helps people." He was actually a lot like Yuji in a way. He knew he was likely going to die in that field of work - he simply didn't care. Countless people were saved thanks to him, and that was all he ever wanted.

"no one would mind if I was gone" You're wrong, Nanamin. We'll always take on your share of suffering 💔

I think the beauty of this is that Gojo was incredibly proud and happy that Nanami made the decision to come back to Jujutsu Tech, because he knew that Nanami's true calling was helping people as a Jujutsu sorcerer. But he had to give a hearty laugh in typical Gojo fashion to troll his underclassman a bit lol. It also shows Nanami's respect for Gojo that Gojo was the first one he called to return to the field of Jujutsu.
  • Nanami: Frankly no one would mind if I were gone. JJK Audience: FUCKING YES WE WOULD Gege: 🤔💡
  • This scene is what made me respect Nanami because his job as a salaryman (more specifically, as a stockbroker for an investment firm) only cared about money. Despite his proud stature, Nanami is just like any other salaryman. He wants a high-paying job regardless of whether it violates moral obligations. Nanami is widely regarded as a man of integrity, so working for a company that defrauds people would go against his beliefs. Nanami also believes that he is the type of man who has no idea why he is alive or what he should be doing with his life. At this point, the only thing going for him is making money. (After all, money is what makes the world go round for some people.) On the other hand, by helping the baker, Nanami realizes his true purpose in life. While it’s great to make money, it’s even better to make people’s lives better, which inspires him to return to being a sorcerer.

Nanami: Frankly, No one would mind if I was gone. That's literally me dude.

I have to write a story where Nanami survives the Shibuya incident and retires and goes to Malaysia with the Bakery girl to cope with my trauma cause I caaaaaant 😭😭😭😭
  • Imagine a world where gege let the characters live a happy life and nanami and the baker girl ended up together and he quit being a sorcerer, but nah thats too wholesome for jjk
  • @vira9390

  • @missingherr
Please come back again!.. she'll never see him again.
  • @Clemaglorine
The fact that gojo stared laughing at nanami saying he's gonna come back has no right to be that funny😭 its almost Like when nanami told Gojo he's resigning from being a sorcerer gojo told him he'd come back and nanami did
