When you realize Clayton Carmine had his brothers' names tattooed on his arm and his war paints "practice reloading" "keep your head down" was referring to Anthony's mistake and lesson, and on his back armor "kill grubs" was for Benjamin who wanted to stay behind while Marcus Fenix leaves on a raven, and his ammo belt tattoo as a good luck charm to find more ammo or never run out of ammo just like many soldiers in the army support squads have

In the books Marcus is actually pretty smart. It’s even said that he might not have been a full-fledged scientist like his father but he was definitely intelligent

You forgot to mention that the fans had a choice of whether Clayton Carmine lived or died before Gears 3 was released.

I still feel like Anya's death was depressing, she deserved more screen time, just as we got to know more about her in Gears 3, she was killed off by the writers in Gears 4.

I have to admit. The developers did a great job with the Gears series. I have played 1-5 minus judgement day and any others in between. I don’t really follow up on the backstories but what caught me the most was a doctor had interest in Myrah and settled to have a family despite the fact they experimented on her.

Gary didnt died at the begining of the game, his body is found later in the game in the locust tomb, sorrounded by a bunch of swarm dead bodies, hi died taking a lot of enemies with him.

Biggest issue with Gears 5 is the choice of who dies. It was unnecessary and it just makes it trivial.

I feel bad for Marcus and Clayton Carmine. Marcus lost his "brother" father wife and son (but JD's death isnt cannon). Clayton lost his brothers and even neice which is just sad
