I know, someone already said this but, I just always wanted to say this: POV:Everyone knew. Not just Eggman, but the ENTIRE CAST, right down to the red echidna. They could all tell the difference all along, they were just playing stupid just to dispose of the blue blur and maybe, JUST MAYBE, find a suitable replacement in the process as well.

The fact that this is a plausible scenario is what is really disturbing. We the audience can clearly see difference between Sonic and his look-alikes, but in-verse there is so much confusion between the characters. The fact the fandom exploits this doesn't help.
