In this video I explore the sounds and textures you can get with combining a Casio's SK-1 sampling keyboard with a 4-track cassette recorder. The Casio SK-1 was released in 1985 and was one of the first affordable samplers, albeit with a rather limited feature set.

I grew up with the sk1- loved it to bits - had to chuck it in the end - too many keys broke off. Wish id kept it 😃I love that overhead shot of the sk1 tascam and deck - so nice! 👍

Although I had the Yamaha DX7 poster on my wall in 1986... I got the Casio instead LOL a bit more in the price range of a little boy - it was the realistic (radio shack) rebranded version.
