Askeladd deserves his own episode, killing the king was the tip of the iceberg. Man searched for a good leader his whole life, got tired and raised his own king since everyone else was too incompetent for him. And his backstory. He was casually advicing Thorfinn how to kill him.

Fun Fact: Many Vikings where shroomed up to the point that they literally became the personification of a raging beast being able to just reject the concept of pain as they went on a hacking spree.

Fun fact: Askeladd is actually a character from Norwegian folklore. He's usually characterized similarly to robin hood but coming from nothing, with the name translating to ash child.

There is a story about a greenlander befriending a Viking. And the viking just one day says he wants to climb a mountain, have an archery contest and then throw himself of the mountain afterwards. The Greenlander is like "what" And then the viking just does. Vikings didn't need a reason to die I guess.

The way the story transforms Askeladd from Villain to Hero, and Thorfin from Hero to Villain was spot on.
