  • @Enbionic_Titan
He literally turns every anime into a hidden episode of The Boondocks
  • @MikahTyson
As a Norwegian, this is basically what happens every friday.
  • @thecasul1524
Askeladd deserves his own episode, killing the king was the tip of the iceberg. Man searched for a good leader his whole life, got tired and raised his own king since everyone else was too incompetent for him. And his backstory. He was casually advicing Thorfinn how to kill him.

Fun Fact: Many Vikings where shroomed up to the point that they literally became the personification of a raging beast being able to just reject the concept of pain as they went on a hacking spree.
  • @predat0r376
Thorfinn’s character development is so well done. He completely does a 180 between seasons 1 and 2 but its justified and written incredibly
  • @deeznutz5825
Fun fact: Askeladd is actually a character from Norwegian folklore. He's usually characterized similarly to robin hood but coming from nothing, with the name translating to ash child.
  • @gigiapollo
Thorkell leaving the battlefield like a sulky child is probably my favorite part of the series 🤣 he was mad as hell
  • @AidanS99
This show is a damn masterpiece. From cold blooded killer to a broker of peace. I’m so proud of Thorfinn.
  • @TonyBamboozle
You would unironically be a great voice actor for Thorkell. You really nailed his "bloodthirsty psycho with a jolly attitude" personality.
  • There is a story about a greenlander befriending a Viking. And the viking just one day says he wants to climb a mountain, have an archery contest and then throw himself of the mountain afterwards. The Greenlander is like "what" And then the viking just does. Vikings didn't need a reason to die I guess.
  • Thorkell used a whole damn tree for a Bo Staff, and this man speared four people on a single weapon. That is a ancestor of the Hanma Bloodline
  • @kirblo2267
The meaning behind Thors death is actually a masterpiece. Askeladd didn't want to kill Thors, he HAD to because as a LEADER of Norse Pirates, he would have lost respect from all his crew members. It was revealed in the show later how most of them tried to go behind his back from finding one of his weaknesses as well. Thors realized it as well and he basically indirectly told Askeladd to raise Thorfinn. Askeladd throughout the show started to get more fond of him. But the reason he did everything was to kill the king to get revenge for his family. While doing so, he basically gave Thorfinn the biggest lesson which is that living by the sword will make you die by one. The psychology behind some scenes were immaculate and I happened to pick up on it quite well! It was an amazing show , one of the best to date.

First he headshotted ONE in 40ft, then he speared another 5 in a row; this 7’7 foot giant is a legend, remembered for generations
  • Bro after finishing season 2, that YB to MLK quote is way too f**** funny and accurate
  • @Chaosmajin328
If some 7 foot 7 monster called me a "strawberry shortcake" prior to a battle, logic dictates that I should nope myself out of existence.
  • The way the story transforms Askeladd from Villain to Hero, and Thorfin from Hero to Villain was spot on.
  • @Lancersilva
12:41 funnily enough that’s actually pretty accurate for what viking long boats could do. Their design allowed them to go in knee high water and were light enough that the crew could actually carry the whole thing and carry it to another body of water if need be. I’ll put my glasses down now.
