HELLDIVERS 2 - The Most Intense COOP Shooter of 2024

As a veteran of Helldivers 1, seeing how they've flawlessly translated the mechanics of a couch co-op two-stick shooter to a third person shooter has been amazing -- and on top of that, they've deepened the intricacies of how the war works. I still can't believe it's real. THIS is how you make a sequel.

As a heads up, when aiming, if you click the mouse wheel while aiming you can aim in first person and it makes distance shots easier. Plus holding R allows you to change fire rate, scope zoom, flashlight, rate of fire,...

The bugs are fun, but when you're in a higher difficulty robot fight, holy crap dude. it feels like the star wars game i've always wanted. Lasers flying everywhere, explosions, tanks, BIGGER EXPLOSIONS. And not only that, they also look like terminators and i swear to god they programmed the ai to stand on rocks in heroic poses when explosions are going off because the amount of times we were ambushed by robots and had them looking down at us from a ridge, with a high caliber barrage going off behind them is really freakin high. And we loved every second of it.

I got so scared at the start. I didn’t realize they were on ice and I thought the run animation was bugged.

It's crazy that there's even a day night cycle for the missions. Absolutely uneccesary but they did it anyway. Another amazing detail they put in is that in mission, you can see all the player's main ships in orbit with them, but what's cool is that depending whose strategem is being thrown, it actually comes from the player's own ship and not just the host.

Got sawed in half by my own Gatling turret when i made a dive jump to "safety" 10/10

I ran a mission that increased orbital stratagem variance by 50% - so every orbital call-in was a gamble for whether you got lambasted by a stray round (Drewski's Luck Mode).

As someone who played over 3000 hrs of Warframe and 1000 hrs of DRG, Helldivers 2 is the best co-op game I’ve ever played. Soooo many funny and organic moments. This is the first game I’ve genuinely felt sorry for people that don’t have 3 good friends to reliably play with.

I LOVE this game so freaking much. Easiest 40 bucks I've spent on a game in a long while. Props to the developers, you can tell the love was there in this one.

With the SEAF Artillery outpost, there's a small chance a mini nuke shell spawns, and I found out its blast radius is "you see the mountain? I don't want to see it anymore."

nice detail: The Bullet Casings did not vanish. makes it more emersive and tell stories where you held your ground because there is a pile of spent bullets and mags

might be the most fun i've ever had in a co-op shooter. it's up there with Left 4 Dead, GoW horde mode, early destiny. just so unbelievably fun.

Me and a friend were getting slaughtered by tyranids, and after the timer ran out, we couldn't reinforce. We DID make it out! But it was horrifying.

Camping on a ridge with an LMG and providing covering fire for my squadmates while they grenade bug nests was the most fun I've had in a while in a multi-player game

So many streamers are playing this and seem to be lovin it. The explosions are amazing as is the music. Looks a lot of fun

You just have to experience this game on PC or PS5 with a DualSense controller. Nothing gets you immersed more than the HD Rumble during massive explosions, or feeling the haptic triggers vibrate while destroying a horde with a Machine Gun. It’s so nice the devs added support in, unlike Capcom who still haven’t done it for RE4remake on PC.
