this actually has soo much potential. people could just start making a range of "housing" for the framework! I want a rugged housing for field work. this is awesome too!
  • @AndrewTolbert
This is incredibly awesome; my jaw dropped and I threw my hands up in the air when you revealed the dock 😂
  • @Spiros219
The station at the end was a great addition

You have got an amazing workshop, and you clearly have the skills necessary to make the most of it. And I loved that surprise dock at the end.
  • @tipprich
Your Framework stuff is pretty awesome.

Impressive that this is just a one-man project. This really shows the potential of DIY laptops. Im very excited to see what else you have in store for us in the future!
  • @VladimirKostek
Very cool CJ, been following your updates on this so very cool to see the end result!
  • @rilufuzz
I'd love to see Framework jump on the bandwagon for these custom mods/builds people are doing.
  • @MegpoidNebri
I wasn't ready for that dock, that definitely makes the build here. Well done! Shame about the battery issues, but really cool project regardless.
  • @KellyWu04
Framework's firmware leaves a lot to be desired. There's also the weird USB-PD bug they have going with low-power chargers.
  • @WillianMolinari
It's amazing how much great stuff you can do with the Framework, CJ! Please continue coming up and improving these great concepts.
  • @eliasdetrois
Omg what an incredible project. The dock was a crazy twist. I love these videos and seeing your enthusiasm for your creations! Great project

  • @ASilverNMeep886
I saw that you docked the console from the timeline and raised an eyebrow. My jaw still dropped when you actually revealed that it was a full on USB-C hub with a GPU. I just got my AMD 7640u, less powerful but good enough for my purposes. I'm inspired by you and am dreaming up a small USB-C hub that would protrude and connect like the expansion cards (think the Ethernet card, but now you have 1"x4" card parallel to your laptop). Would still love to see your take if it is worth your time as I slowly inch towards it. Thank you for your honest reviews. Framework isn't a perfect company, but it was time for a replacement laptop and I would use it 4+ years until it falls apart anyways. It may not be the best bang for buck, but I wanted to buy at least one because of the company message and your reviews help to set level-headed expectations.

Extremely impressed by this project, amazing. I think you framed it really well at the start, and ultimately I can picture this exact project with a hinge being something people would really be into. Fantastic work.
