Hi Guys,

Welcome to Autism & Us, Episode 3.

Todays topic is Cash at age 3 & 4. I speak about his meltdowns, social skills, therapy, kindy experience, foods & books to name a few.

To be honest, this video sort of highlights a difficult time for us, these years were defiantly very challenging for us and I was quite honest with our struggles. Of course we are so grateful for our family and our beautiful son Cash, and if you have a look at our family photos in this video, you will see we had some amazing time and made incredible memories.

I hope we can add some value to anyone going through the same situation, and please know - you are doing a wonderful job :)

Please don't be afraid to reach out if anyone has any questions, I will do my best to get back to everyone. See below for more information about our family.

Another thing about Cash is that he LOVES watching youtube videos. He is a visual learner so he quite often will repeat what he is watching on youtube which is how he started to speak when he was 5. He loves watching kids playing with toys, especially Ryan’s Toy Reviews and this has been quite a strong learning strategy for him. He has loved it so much, we decided to make a few with him on his own channel - please keep in mind, this is something we are just testing at this stage , until Cash progresses further in his development. We hope to feature videos of Cash’s favourite things including science experiments, robots, puzzles and how he plays with toys. With this channel, we hope to inspire other kids to break through barriers. In the meantime - Check out his first video♡♡

Thank you for sharing this! My son was diagnosed with autism when he was 2.5 years old. Now he'll be 4 in a couple weeks. He is nonverbal and tantrums a lot, hurting himself and others. Many things you described rang true for me. Sleep is terrible as he wakes up in the middle of the night and then struggles for hours to go back to sleep. You've given me a lot of hope, though. I appreciate you sharing your story!
