In voting for a town council person in my small red town a conservative sent out an ugly letter to all of us town folks blasting our only democrat already on the council then put up a person not previously on the ballot a few days before the deadline to get rid of her. They were both people that lived in the town and went to school together. It worked. The vitriol from the right is mean, nasty and weird.
