Wow! At first I thought it was a lot of steps, but every one of them was worth it. I cleaned all of my Mom's solar lights -- pathway, strings, decorative garden lights ... they are all like brand new. Thanks for the video!

Living in a throwaway society; it is nice to see practical ideas for renewing weathered solar lights, preventing waste and best of all saving money by not buying replacement lights.

A lot of great information! Some people may not think of this, but it’s important to remove the batteries, when not in use. A simple step sometimes forgotten.

We really needed this tutorial. I didn’t know what to do except throw our lights away. I think I’ll be able to save 90% of them using your method.

I watched the video and read the comments. Today, I pulled all the old lights out, took them apart, cleaned them, used Magic Eraser and Simple Green for the tops, did the sandpaper that you recommend, and am changing out the batteries now. I will spray them in the morning! Thanks everyone for the awesome tips to help me waste less!

My husband tried a damp magic eraser sponge and it took the haze off immediately. Don't bother with all these steps. We did spray the Rustoleum clear gloss UV resistant non-yellowing on the top after, but you really just need to use a magic eraser to get the film off!

I agree, thank you so much. I was just trying to convince my husband we needed to do something about our solar lights needing to be cleaned. Hell listen to you

I know you did this video 6 years ago but I just stumbled upon it. LOVE your narration of the steps and this will be helpful for me. I’m off to check out your newer posts!

I've done this, and it works.I kept all of them, and I thank you 😊. I'm glad I did not toss them.

Thank you so much kind sir. People that make videos like this are my heroes. Thank you

Thank you so much for sharing, I have so many garden lights, that look awful, this weekend I'm going to do what you showed us in this video, I hate to throw something away, because things aren't made the way they used to be years ago...

Nice, i'll have to give this a try. I've also found that taking the battery out and giving it a full charge via a charger once in a while will help you get the max output too.
-
Great step-by-step instructions. I have the materials in the garage and will go on the attack this week. Thank you.

I have a lot of solar items, decorations and path lights, and they all have that cloudy panel problem. I'm so glad I found this video-now I can restore them and enjoy them again!

This was the first video that came up from my search for something like this.

Great procedure, on restoring back the clear coat to solar grid on lights and etc

Thanks so much for your video! Worked great on my old solar lights I bought at Costco 8 years ago~ using your method I did metal part as well with Rustoleum bronze & they look brand new! ( I leave mine out year round so they were in rough shape) Again ~ Thank you!
