I remember when Visceral was questioned about why the "cut off the limbs" instructions were so obnoxious at the beginning of the game. They said that almost no matter how many times the instruction was given to playtesters, it was ignored, and they kept shooting the necromorphs in the head and when they didn't die, playtesters got frustrated. That was the moment when I finally truly understood that many human beings don't actually have a functioning brain.

This entire game is "HES IN THE WALLS....HES IN THE GOD DAMN WALLS!!!!"
  • The remake in my opinion, is truly scarier than the original. When a room becomes pitch black you really can't tell where the enemies are until their right next to you. Heck now that the entire ship is explorable, any random noise and sound keeps you on your toes from beginning to end. This is truly a worthy remake and I'm glad to be alive at this point to experience this!
  • If you keep stomping on the monsters like 20 times. Isaac Clarke will cuss at the dead monsters in different strong words so give it a try.
  • After finishing and playing it to 100 percent to get my hand cannon this is RE1 remake level, I’m happy he is playing and enjoying it.
  • I feel like this is exactly how a remake of a horror game should be done. The mechanics and gameplay are exactly how you remember, but the narrative and especially the big scare set pieces are changed enough to keep you on your toes.

39:57 that is what I love about this game, if a Necromorph is behind you, everything is silent until you realise is there, always keeping you alert.
  • I was in high school when this game came out and it was already scary at the time, but now it looks like a true waking nightmare. This was the game where some kids would say it’s not that scary but honestly I think they were full of it.
  • Max: "I like how theyre letting areas be dark, you can't tell what this is without shining your light on it " Entire room is nearly pitch black. Max: "Oh god...."

This remake can now officially be considered along REmake as one of the best remakes of all time. They’ve done something special here. First GOTY of the year, no question.

39:57 this part had me in stitches, the necromorph politely walked up tapped him on the shoulder and went "HOOAUUGRGHHHH" Max is getting terrorised I love it 🤣

I remember how terrified I was watching this and the last streams at 2am in pitch black darkness...why do I do this to myself lmao. I'm glad Motive didn't mess this remake up and instead improved upon it alot in my opinion

It's only today and in this video that I realize how dynamic the Necromorph encounters can be, I didn't even know they could appear around the smashing door like then... And behind the glass after the first babymorph encounter

Max with the “camera-gate” was hilarious.
  • @ItsJustAGuy
I wonder how frantic chat was trying to let Max know he could rip the weapons off the Nechramorphs
  • Max, This Remake is amazing, It is like the original but very different. Spawns are somewhat the same and very different locations. It's insane how similar the 2 are. This game is scary as shit just like the og, Definitely one of the best Survival Horror games there is. The feel of the game feels very different. I love the lore and backstory of how the events of DS1 outbreak came to be. The Ishimura is a fantastic setting with tight corners and enclosed spaces. We need DS2 Remake or DS4
  • I can’t go into it without spoilers, but what really elevates this to a RE2 level remake are some of the changes to the third act. The way some reveals and characters are handled was just a HUGE improvement on the og in my opinion.

It may not be the first, but the "starting weapon only" achievement from the original DS1 really stuck with me for a long time to such an extent that I just I wanted to try out if it's possible to do in other games.
  • i find that there's 2 kind of players, players who are too frightened to realise how well they can fight back, and those who realise it straight away and turn hallways into shooting gallery's
