Gillian's Bit with the gun is my favorite in the series so far and I am SO happy it has it's own animation now

2:46 Only just realised that Jason calls her ‘Jayjay’ which her mother also calls her in Humble Beginnings but the moment Chip tries to call her Jayjay in HB she lashes out at him Dear Lord get my favourite girl some therapy (I know they all need it but Jay is my little favourite) Also can we talk about how at 5:32 (though it seems it may have been taken out here, I remember it fully) Condi asks if Jay can interpret Jason’s command however she likes, but Grizz says that she HAS to interpret it as how Jason would interpret the command, which is what leads her to shoot Gill. This has two meanings which I would like to relay to you: Option 1) Jay’s father has physically hurt her, and so this command of ‘discipline’ translates as ‘physically hurt them’ which is what leads her to interpret the command as a command to shoot Gill. Option 2) In Ep 58 ‘Tides that Bind Us’ Jay tells Lizzie that when she was younger, she had a dolly named Samantha that her father shot because she was ‘focusing too much on it’ which was him taking away something she loved. Therefore she interpreted her father’s command as her taking away something Chip and Gill love, which is what leads her to shoot Gill. Chip loves his friends, and Gill has dedicated his life to his destiny. By shooting Gill, she takes away something they both love. This option also implies that she doesn’t believe they love her, probably because she hasn’t revealed her truth about her betrayal to them until after this point, so if they haven’t seen all sides of her, they do not truly love her, so shooting herself doesn’t take away something they love. This opens up an option of a timeline where Jay does believe they could love her despite it all, and shoots herself as an interpretation of her father’s command, taking away that which they love and care about. I’ve been thinking about this every time I think about this part of the episode. Have a nice day everyone!

This is so well done. I just finished this arc yesterday and I was crying, and now I'm crying again gosh dang it. All the expressions and body language were so good, especially for Jay. Gillion and Chip jolting back when Jason Ferin looked at them at around 4:40 was a nice touch (Grizz really managed to make that man genuinely intimidating). The only thing that was missing throughout this piece was Gillion's sword sticking out of Jason Ferin's pecs

I love the affect of Gil getting more angry as mr ferin talks to jay. This was really well done made me cry again! Also same lil bit again but around that time chip has the best “oh shit Gil’s about to do something we both regret” face I think I’ve ever seen animated

Oh OUGH!! This is gorgeous it’s so, its SO GOOD, I love the way you visualized SO many parts of this!! Your design for Jayson is, really really good! All the composition when Jay’s walking to her Father, Gillion just, you get his mannerisms so perfectly visualized wowwowowo!! And the way you draw Marshall John holding up Drey!! I liked that visualization a LOT! Also all the magic!! Dreys magic, Gills Smite? Was it, Just, magic OUGH this is genuinely gorgeous man you did an incredible job!

was saving this for when i finally caught up to riptide, and now that i have i gotta say: i didn't cry once during this episode, didn't even tear up, but for some reason hearing it twice mixed with this just. AMAZING animation really did it in for me. i really felt this.
