Honestly you aren't missing much from not playing the first, the only really noteworthy part of the first game is that you can sit down and watch the ENTIRE TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD MOVIE WITH JENNIE

Totally agree with you, The Darkness 2 is a kick ass game. I usually break it out when I'm in a bad mood and just want to feel bad ass.

Play the 1st one! It's so good and tells a great story. Also read the comic, it crosses over with Batman and tomb raider at points. Also if you've ever heard of the witchblade well the witchblade is the darkness's child

Obligatory "I've played it too!". And mayyyyyyybe don't spoil the ending like that if you're gonna send people to buy it. (Would be funny if Darkness 3 started with Jackie waking up at the med bay of the asylum) Also, I really like that you put themed songs at the end like Yahtzee used to do.

One of my favourite games of all time. It introduced me to the idea of overpowering main protagonist and the concept of mental health. I mean, the hospital part was quite convincing.

I finished both The Darkness 1 and 2 at 100% and as much as I love the second game, I kinda prefer the first one and played it soooooooo many times!

Bought this game for semi cheap as part of a humble bundle worth every penny and I still come back to it 3years later. I don't wanna go TOO far but let's just say the older fps games I come back to are usually of the half life borderlands bioshock fallout variety and this is certainly up there
