I love Dr. Fung! His videos started me on my journey two years ago through fasting to get rid of snacking. I then continued onto to a Keto diet, then onto Carnivore. Eleven months into Carnivore I am continuing to fast 16 to 18 hours every day. I now am weighing what I did in high school (at age 63). I feel like I have my life back. If it wasn’t for Dr. Fung and all the Keto and Carnivore influencers out there, I have doubts I would be where I am today. It’s never too late to start taking control of your health. Thank you for interviewing Dr. Fung!

Fasting and the Carnivore diet has helped me tremendously! **Update** Went to my doctor. I'm down 25 pounds. I told her about how I fast a couple of times a week. She was like, "Starving yourself isn't the answer...." blah, blah, blah. Her advice went in one ear and out the other. Fasting works for me!!!!

A low carb diet & fasting is what worked for me. I found Dr. Fung when I looked up Fasting for Diabetics.

I feel fantastic when fasting. There are times I keep on fasting because I am not hungry when my eating window opens. My energy stays at a higher level. Ive always believed we dont need to be eating all day and dont need 3 meals a day. Its too much food.

Is our prayer that u stay long on earth to help more people.

Dieticians told everyone they had to eat 6 times a day. It was dieticians who went after Tim Noakes and Gary Fettke
  • I am a Plastic Surgeon from Philippines. Patients have a hard time believing me when I say LC diet because of my specialty. I started embracing LC since 2018

Dr Fang makes so much sense!!! People say you need to eat all the time because they wanted to sell you their processed foods so they can make profit.

I tell my kids I was in high school sports last two years of the 70s and first two years of 80s, and we went to track practice without a snack! 😱we didn’t have water bottles. We had a fountain. Then I went home after two hours and I didn’t eat then either!😨We waited for my dad to get home from work before eating dinner. Nobody died! Say it isn’t so!!! When my kids were in soccer and baseball, I hated that I was expected to bring a sweet snack and sugary drinks for after practice.

Watching these two talk and geeking out about a topic they know very well brings a smile to my face. It's kind of like when Tony Stark and Bruce Banner talk about science. Their passion is infectious and you can listen to them for hours.

I fasted for two weeks and had blood work done at the end of the second week. My Glucose went from 115 to 80. My triglycerides dropped over 100 to ~162; however, my cholesterol shot through the roof and now my doctor's nurse, who I have never spoken to, recommended a prescription for statins based this single situation. I'm slated for another test in a few months, but no way am I going on statins when the non-fasting test done less than a month earlier (higher triglycerides, higher glucose since I ate protein 3 hours before the test, much lower total chol + LDL and higher HDL) less than a month prior. I think the problem is doctors these days don't really know how the body works, don't have the latest study data in their purview, and don't know their individual patient's situations. They just look at numbers and make decisions based on the data in front of them without contextual awareness.
  • Gave dr Fung’s diet book to two doctors. Both really liked it! Can only inspire a few st a time.

I remember how good I felt when I fasted before a colonoscopy. It was an eye-opener for me and I use it often now, just to feel better.

Considering how much bad information I’ve gotten from doctors. I am surprised that you’re surprised that we don’t trust doctors like we used to. or instance, just eat less go on the American diabetes diet and you lose weight it’s perfectly safe I’m glad to hear that you are more educated and understand that it is not perfectly safe.
  • I started intermittent fasting 133 days ago after viewing several videos of Dr Fung. I have dropped from 196 lbs to 169lbs. My triglycerides went down from 370 to 80. My fasting blood sugar dropped from 112 to 98. My A1C dropped from 6.2 to 5.7. I have been doing a 16:8 IF regiment. I made subtle changes in terms of what I am eating such as using Stevia Select vs Splenda and using Prymal coffee creamer vs Coffeemate creamer. Those changes in the morning for coffee has decreased my insulin response I believe. I am 5’5” and am a busy physical therapist. I feel so much better and think I stopped the progression of becoming a type 2 diabetic. I can not thank Dr Fung enough for helping me understand how and why IF works. I am now empowered to change my health and well being and hopefully can be a motivator for my patients I work with.
