  • As someone with BPD, i isolate myself on purpose, i stopped bothering to explain to others why i am so privated and isolated. Its just easier to say i prefer to be alone. But I don't wanna end up turning into someone with no self control and hurt someone unintentionally
  • Just a note: Complex PTSD is often misdiagnosed as Borderline Personality Disorder. Makes sure it isnt CPTSD first.

We suffer because we know exactly who we are and we know we dont fit in society as highly sensitive beings. We are misunderstood, unaccepted, but we pretend not to be based on the people around us. The expectation to be normal results in both self acceptance and outward denial.

I was diagnosed 8 years ago. However, it’s impacted my whole life. It’s to the point where I might step away from my job because the emotional roller coaster is way too much.
  • I was always told I’m “too sensitive” or that I overreact to little things. I’ve also gone through so many identity issues and even to this day I still don’t really know or understand who I am and where I fit in. When I was diagnosed with bipolar, it just didn’t seem right. I’m only 18, but I’ve been struggling for so many years. I don’t remember the last time I was viewed as “normal” by my peers. I couldn’t wait until I was 18 because that meant I could finally figure out what was truly wrong. But my diagnosis of bipolar made me even more confused. Medication wasn’t working, and I didn’t know what to do. Then I started researching BPD, and it just clicked. It’s like I finally understood what I was. I am not diagnosed with BPD, so I won’t say that I am, but BPD is the only answer I can come up with for my struggles. I plan on going to a psychiatrist to get properly diagnosed once I can. Hopefully I can get on some sort of medication to help me cope.

The one thing that I never hear anybody talk about is how this one particular personality disorder is curable!!!! without medication too!!! This is one mental illness that is curable; how? It’s through self-awareness. You introduced self awareness into your every day routine and you will see change. I was diagnosed in 2017 and I have changed my life completely. I have totally regulated my nervous system. I am no longer living a fear based lifestyle. I can see so much change. I still have areas I still am working at but I think it’s a lifelong process, but wow, self awareness is the game changer for borderline personality disorder.
  • Having BPD is like being on an emotional roller coaster ride....and thats for starters. Its horrible.
  • Just diagnosed today with this after a terrible time in my life. I'm glad I have a diagnosis in a way because it all makes sense now. I'm not impulsive I'm don't self don't drink or drugs but my emotions are awful they swing really badly. The fear of been on my own is horrible and I get angry and anger outbursts.

I was diagnosed with this to begin with, after the psychiatrist talking to me for no longer than 45 mins, turns out I have adhd and women are misdiagnosed every single day with BPD. There is no enough, research, support anything into a lot of these mental illnesses especially as women! Something needs to change
  • The identity disturbance is the one for me. I know my name, my gender, my sexual orientation, my age. But that’s about it. I don’t know who I am apart from that.
  • Side note: Autism and ADHD are often misdiagnosed as BPD as the symptoms are so similar, the symptoms discussed here are all symptoms of ADHD and autism too! Clinicians not fully trained in neurodiversities often incorrectly misdiagnose as BPD, it is always worth getting a 2nd opinion.
  • For the longest time I was wondering what was plaguing my ex wife. I even researched Bipolar disorder....but it just didn't match up as she's not manic for long periods of time. When I stumbled across BPD...I was floored!!! It truly explained so dang much. She's undiagnosed....but I am 89% sure it's why she suffers. Was the most miserable and abusive experience of my life with her.
  • As someone with BPD... he has no clue about the storm is creates... we try as hard as we can.... we know who what we are. We are fighting off urges 24/7.... because we don't wanna be judged. We are literally on the brink 24/7
  • This barely scratches the surface of what dealing with someone with bpd is like.
  • This is my Father all over he has BPD but won't come to terms with it.
  • I'm glad to see that there is more video to this because this explanation couldn't be vaguer. It's an extremely complex, multi-faceted diagnosis, and tends to manifest itself differently, on an individual basis.
