In the cabin it's always cold in the morning. But when it's not winter a little fire is often enough to make it cozy and warm inside our tiny house. Once we enjoyed heaps of hot coffee and hot cereal we're ready to tackle the day.
And that means tacking care of our doberman dogs, feeding our newborn baby boy and spend some time preparing firewood for the winter. We harvest our own vegetables and because we have no running water Sophie washes her hair in a tin bucket.
With other words it is a typical day at our cabin full of laughter, mishaps and success 😋

We are Peter & Sophie two Germans who found a new home in the Canadian Wilderness. SUBSCRIBE for cabin life, simple living adventures and behind the scenes of what it's really like to live off the grid in the great, wild north.

I loved that picture of the Gray Jay (also known as a Whiskey Jack in certain areas) in your introduction. I lived 15 years in northern MN and they were one of my favorite birds...such a delicate song and demeanor.
