How To Collect A Resurrection Jar: A Step By Step Guide

Published 2024-03-29
In this video I will give you an in depth step by step guide of how to collect a resurrection jar that Father Fish has made famous. I have collected a bunch of them over the last year so I will share my experiences collecting them and also share some of the knowledge I have learned by doing extensive research not only watching Father Fish videos but by exploring his Discord channel and all the great and useful information that it contains.
If you have a dirted tank and are interested in collecting one of these jars or maybe you have but weren’t sure if you did something correctly this video is for you. And if there is anything I might have missed or any other tips or tricks you have found please share them in the comments and let’s all learn together.
Now if you haven’t already please go to ‪@FatherFish‬ and subscribe to his incredibly helpful and informative channel if you haven’t already and check out that Discord channel. You will not be disappointed.
If you haven’t subscribed to my channel please consider doing so and join me in thinking outside the box and taking a step back into nature.

Great video Patty I’d have to learn what’s good and what’s bad creatures You should do a critter profile to show us what not to add 👍👍👍😊
  • Excellent video as always my good friend. I gotta admit I am still nervous but yet may add one to a empty tank then add some fry I am with Mal. That would make an excellent video identifying

One of the best videos I've ever seen on any topic on YouTube. Period.

Not collected my res jar just yet but have left my deep sand substrate tank to do its own thing and for some reason i have snails and daphnia and detritus worms in there with my elodea exploding towards the surface it looks great gonna add some scuds maybe copepods you and father fish are helping to spread a more natural way of keeping aquariums that allow fish to be healthy and thrive not just live.

I'm very excited because my son and I are planning to go to a local lake on Sunday with our bikes and fill up a couple of jars

I’m so hesitant to adding resurrection jar contents to my aquarium thinking I may be mistakenly adding a harmful critter 😮
  • @Gilsfishroom
Just watched this again because I'm headed down the river tomorrow, and will take a couple of jars.

Great information, Patty. Love how you give a good clear explanation. Have you ever cultured Daphnia for a food source? Would love to see a video on that.
  • THIS VIDEO WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR, THANK YOU!!!!! I love father fish and want to set up a natural tank but being new to natty tanks get confused sometimes when he explains and the step by step is exactly what I wanted !!!

Me again Patty. After I posted I remember watching a Father Fish episode recently where he had another interesting guest on. I’m not sure if you are familiar but the subject matter fits in perfectly with your presentation. The site is”Let’s Scope It Out “. The narration is eerily kinda “David Attenborough “ lol. These critters he presents are truly fascinating. Happy Easter.
  • I use saran wrap, and I use a toothpick and poke holes in it, and I use an air stone with a gang valve to adjust air bubbles.

Great video. The discord has many infos about resurection jar, some are using water tap, others air pump, others shoe box... It's dificult to understand which way to follow and since the info is not categorized as a forum, it's hard to find the right information. This is my opinion the hardest part of Fathers fish, this video helps a lot. Thank you!
