Wow! I was at this show. I remember leaving campus at UM and someone told me they just heard STP was about to play for free on South Beach. A couple people jumped into my car, we drove down there and watched them put on an amazing performance for free on the beach. The Best.

No cell phones, everyone just standing there watching the show, incredible, lol!

I was there with my brother and a friend. I was a professor at the time, and it was the ONLY time i ever cancelled class. It was insane. Maybe 200 ppl there, on the sand.

Scott was just incredible at commanding that stage!💯

STP at South Beach and it was free! Don't get much better than that.

This show looked incredible. I’m really jealous of the people there. I can’t believe it was a free show. I don’t think it gets any better than stone temple pilots. Dean Deleos guitar sound is so amazing and Robert Deleo on bass is so underrated . Eric on the drums was so solid and not incredibly fancy but was perfect. He gave tons of space for the guitar and bass. And Scott Weiland was one of the greatest front man ever. He had one the coolest versatile voices in rock.

I was there but never saw this video until today. Great memories of a great day.
  • I was 18 when I caught this show. Hard to believe it's been that many years since then. I feel so old.
  • My daughter pointed this out to me regarding this vid: Notice how no one has a cell phone in the audience recording it. (That's just how it was back then, and we LIKED it). I just happened to have my Sony Digital 8 DCR-TRV510 with me for work. 👌
  • I was right up there front and center...up until about 30mins before the concert started, the place was pretty empty...maybe 100 people...then it got packed up pretty quick.

Thank you so much and God bless you a million times for posting this great and precious concert video. I truly believe the world is a better place with people like you posting concert video and that it was even recorded in the first place. I can't believe this was over twenty years ago.

I love this video!! These small shows that STP did are some of my favorites to watch. I was never able to see them like this and am grateful to people like you that share these amazing moments. Man, what I wouldn't give for one of those towels, lol!! Scott was the best front man ever!!
  • I was at that FREE LIVE show on South Beach... was right up front towards right of the state. It was unforgettable being able to look up and literally see them so close. Will never forget that Free show on South Beach :)... thx for publishing it

Thank you for posting this up and sharing with all the rest of us STP'rs who badly miss those glorious days of Scott & the boys tearing it up on stage. Even though they didn't really rock out as hard as they usually did... espcly during this tour, which in my opinion, contained most of their best performances/shows. More than likely was due to this being a free show which usually drew smaller crowds & minimum endurance in band's performance (which seemed to possibly be the case here). Still though, love gtng the chance to see this show on here. Once again, from 1 STP fan to another, I do thank you for posting this!
  • There's a load of issues with this videos; songs keep cutting in and out at random times, but I've stamped them. The concert name was "Unexpected COncerts in Unexpected places" sponsored by Toyota (I think)..I was at Doral on that Monday at 4pm. By 5pm I was in the front row (shoes full of sand). Unforgettable.

I think almost everyone at this show has posted in the comments below. :D I love it!
