How long it takes (speed animation)

I've noticed that few animation clients have a substantial grasp on how much time the process requires, so I timed everything I did on this one. And now, some caveats:
1. Obviously not all characters or backgrounds will be this detailed, so it's likely most animations won't take this long for the same on-screen duration.
2. Work speeds will vary depending on the animator's experience level. Since I've been working professionally for several years, I figured out what to do and how to do it quicker than a beginner would. Meanwhile, there are people who've been doing this since before I was a fetus, and I'm sure their confidence in their skills would help them knock out something like this in a fraction of the time it took me.
3. If you have the budget and wherewithal to hire different artists to work on multiple steps at once (an animator and a background artist, for example), that'll greatly speed up the process.
Thanks for watching!

Animation, where excessive labor turns into something really magical. Especially frame by frame animation. It just has this certain charme to it, always enthralls, even the simple stuff.

Hello, Laura Maue! I’m an artist who’s been animating for about 3 years although I still struggle with a lot of things while animating, I struggle with squash and stretch, anticipation and more. Do you have any tips for me? Anything would really help! :D
