As we were eating brunch an elephant was eating pods off of the ground and as it approached we were told to stay very still, which we did. To CLARIFY, nobody was feeding the elephant and nobody threw anything. A pod fell from the tree behind where we were sitting, this is what the elephant was eating the entire time. The elephant which had poor eyesight was startled when it walked upon us. It then Swung its trunk and head and hit Shane and Stephen. We respected the elephants territory and this is their HOME. We love these amazing animals and support African tourism. We were lucky to walk away from this. Please see Instagram @wolfography for more photos. When you ignore the elephant in the room for too long ..
  • @zeonmx
The elephant got pissed off because none of them offered him a chair to sit.

"That's a nice party you guys are having, it'd be a shame if..."

The elephant wasnt really aggressive. It wasnt an attack. He was just swiping two flies away.
  • Notice how gentle the elephant was. It had no intent to hurt them, just to ruin dinner. Such an intelligent animal.

That idiot was staring down that elephant which is why he got smacked
  • @nigerianplanet
It seems like the dude who was staring at him pissed him off
  • @jareddavis1919
Actually, knowing the behavior of elephants, he/she was quite gentle considering what could have happened.

That elephant was really slow and gentle and still knocked over two grown men as if they were made of paper These animals are insanely strong
  • @TrapZoneCanine
Can we just appreciate how everyone didn’t even make a noise while getting thrown around by the worlds largest land critter.

Dude on the left should not have kept eyeballing it like that
  • @novagazer6787
you'll see why the elephant attacked at around 1:00 The guy on the left, very unwisely, looked the elephant directly in the eyes..and the elephant saw it
  • The first thing you should be taught is to never stare a wild animal in the eyes...
  • @TruthSurge
IMO, that elephant brushed them out of the way quite gingerly if you note the speed. He could have gone faster and really hurt them.

To clarify for everyone that has commented, there were no peanuts, and nobody threw anything to feed the elephant. It was a seed pod that fell from the tree and that is what the elephant had already been eating. Secondly, you are not supposed to run from wild elephants, you are told by the guides to sit as still as possible. The same thing happened minutes before and the elephant walked on with no issues. This was a young bull and they can be unpredictable. We were on a photographic safari thats SUPPORTS wild animals and African tourism and conservation. Thank you all for viewing.
  • I love how the camera man is laughing at his buddies getting tossed around by an elephant
