Invest 98L has been designated as Potential Tropical Cyclone #5 as it is expected to soon strengthen into Tropical Depression #5 or Tropical Storm Ernesto. Tropical storm watches have been issued for some islands of the Lesser Antilles.

Although it is projected to pass over the Virgin Islands and to the northeast of Puerto Rico, changes in the forecasted track can still occur, keeping Puerto Rico on alert.
