I mean... Why even think of going to India in the first place, especially as a solo female??? Suggest you travel to East Asian countries instead, so much safer especially China. So many delicious food, friendly people and beautiful culture. We're planning to go back there soon.
  • @AntiWar_dude
Solo woman tourist or travelers should be very careful in India 🇮🇳
  • @justnowvideos
Let me shock you , visiting Syria as a lonely female is 100x safer than going to india alone..
  • @Devildemon74
I’m shocked that women would even consider travelling to India alone. Even I as a man wouldn’t...
  • @bishnusarkar2592
As an Indian I would advise any womens not to visit India.. currently India is not ready to be visited..Many incidents are happening,I really feel ashamed 😢
  • Indian here, avoid this place as a solo traveller. No iffs and buts, simply don't come to India alone. Get a good reputable travel company to do everything for you.
  • @khanhhung8959
Even indian is trying to leave india, why do you want to come here?
  • @Madhuparna28
Even as an indian woman i can say I'll face the same or worse if i travel alone... Don't feel safe in my own neighbourhood 😡🤬
  • Born and living in North India for 30 years. Most of us here are raised with little to no understanding of personal space, standing up for right and seeing foreigners as a human being. I'm honestly not surprised with what you experienced.

Just travel to China, Japan and Korea. You will know eastern Asian are way different than Indians

As an indian i can easily suggest this - DO NOT COME TO INDIA AS A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLER, DO NOT COME WITHOUT LOCAL CONNECTS, AND DO NOT COME DURING SUMMER . It sucks to say it, but india is not tourist friendly much

Sorry to hear about your experience.. My girlfriend (white french) and I (korean american) traveled to india/pakistan last year. We did everything ourselves with no tour and only ate and hang around local places. Surprisingly we weren't harassed much. I think you are right. If you are a white female solo traveling, you will probably get harassed more. We did get approached everyday but they leave us after we tell them to f*ck off. We don't really blame the individual people harassing us but the shit system and education these people grew up with. Because to be honest we went to wealthy areas in new delhi and it was the exact opposite. people were very kind and no one was bothering you. No one staring, no one trying to sell you stuff. It just tells you the significant discrepancies in a population. I just hope things improve in india so that future tourists don't deal with such pain. I also heavily blame your tour guides. I can't believe they took you too areas where you would get harassed more. That is a terrible red flag... Next time, check out northern india like srinagar and ladakh! It is very beautiful and people are kind. And pakistan! We loved it there so much. Although parts of lahore and karachi you might face similar issue. Thank you for sharing your experience and being honest! I think more people need to share their experience so they are prepared before going.

You are amazing for speaking out and making this video so everyone is aware.
  • As an Indian Aussie, its this gross behaviour like this that gives us a bad rep all over the world. People should feel safe from all this crap no matter where you are in the world.

hello Phoebe writing to you from Australia, bit of background ...im a middle aged woman who has been to India more than 11 times , i must say im very proud of you for starting this discussion in relation to this. it all happens ... my first trip i also went on a tour , but this tour was with many people , even though that was with many people , the scams are still very rife . fast forward to traveling alone for the next 10 times , photos etc yes , but im not backward in coming forward , i find that the pack mentality was usually from north India . Unfortunately in Goa , there are so many domestic tourists , the local Goan men would not do this , this behavior would be Domestic Indian tourists , who tend to travel in packs . again im really impressed with this discussion as it needs to be addressed . i hope that you have taken time to decompress form this trip . we need to see the world for what it really is , and discussions need to be had and explored Kind regards Greta

Sorry to hear what happened & I'm not surprised. It's hard being a Solo Female Traveller in India, especially North India. I'd always suggest to travel with a partner / in group when you travel in Delhi / UP / Rajasthan - men are very notorious in that part of the country. I hope you'll look past this experience & appreciate the beauty of India.

I am an Indian woman. One of my friends in Australia was planning to go for a trip in India with her daughter. I warned her so many times. I offered my Indian phone number and everything in case if she needs it. she kinda got fed up with me. she was like "I have travelled alone a lot of countries. I will be safe". I didn't know how her trip went. You can try to avoid visiting India. If you want, go with a group please
  • @RaizadaS97
I’m so sorry that you had this experience in my country. I live in Bombay and sadly other than Bombay and most parts of Bangalore - being a woman is quite tough in most parts of the country. More power to you and you don’t deserve this
  • India is really a tough place to be for western solo traveler, its really unfortunate what happened to you. I Had a similar experience during Holi festival a couple of yrs back and I was with my fiancé’ during those times..I’m glad you made it out in one piece Phoebe..
  • @lifebyjamie
i hate that you went through this, phoebe!! I'm so angry for you. it's sounds terrifying and of course people can say "it's just a photo" but it's your sense of safety and security and personal space while visiting a foreign place. and the hotel room key stuff is horrifying. I got a door stop alarm off amazon, its SO loud but also jams the door and sits easy and small at the bottom of a backpack for travel. thank you for sharing this experience. it is so important to share these sides of travel. onto better days my friend, sending big hugs, love and strength!
