Marvel United: The Perfect Game??

I've always looked past it bc of the art style (very kiddie). But I kept hearing good things. I saw it at my FLGS and noticed how cheap it was, so I bought it. I haven't played it yet but now you're making me want to get it to the table and dive in!

Marvel United quickly became my go-to best game in my collection. I own all S1 and S2 content, with multiverse coming. The variability in villains is what got me hooked on it. Its been my gateway go-to for anyone new to moderm board games. Its engaging aswell as cooperative, so it makes early coaching/teach a breeze. I'm blown away how much Multiverse will blow the variation and game modes out of the water. I agree, 8.5-9/10 For the ones who think its too "casual" or "easy", removing wilds is a great challenge of its own. But the spiderverse game mode or other variations make the game a very punishing and engaging experience too.

So I got the core set when it originally came to walmart. I thought it was really good. Then I got all of S1's Kickstarter content. I ended up getting rid of some of the dumb characters (spiderham, beta ray bill, yondu etc), but the game hit my top 5. Just the plug and play of the heroes, villains, locations and challenges made it feel so fresh solo and in groups. Then S2 came... super villain mode, the roster increases just made it hit my #1 of all time above even Ark Nova. The game is perfect and all my painted figures make me love it even more.

100%. This game is brilliant, and the variability is so high. The theme is also really evocative for how light it is, but the ease of play doesn't limit the depth of choices, especially on the harder difficulties and bosses. And I just keep bringing it out again and again. Any game that gets to the table is worth infinite games that stay on the shelf for years because you need to relearn them every time.

I added this game to my Xmas wishlist on a whim, and I'm so glad I did! It's already top 5 for me. So much to like: simple rules, fast play, tons of variety, works well solo and multiplayer, great theme, my son enjoys it too and excellent minis to paint.

We play a fanmade Legacy campaign available on BGG and it's amazing.. ;) I also absolutely love these minis and painting them.

The x-men kickstarter got me into the hobby. I’ve got about 4 games now but I’ll pretty much buy united for as long as it goes. So quick, so fun, so easy to play.

Definitely rated the game around a 6 after a few plays of the core box. Decided to buy some additional stuff 2 years later, and it's seeing a ton of plays.

If you prefer the star wars theme the star wars clone wars is somewhat similar, but in a pandemic-lite system.

The problem now with this game is that it isn't actually cheap. It is 30€ for the expansion. I do like the plug and play setup of this game. I hate that they didn't add some bags for all the tokens. I don't see how an expansion makes the core game better, can you elaborate further on it? Maybe it is too simple and that's why I don't love it. I like it, but I don't love it like other co-op games like Pandemic.

I loathe this game. I find it to not be thematic at all and way too basic
