Berlin is one of the top cities in Europe to visit. Many museums to visit and in general a positive vibe for everything.

I'm a German and I think, you captured the most important sights of Berlin and gave us an amazing insight into Berlin's huge past and history. It's not easy to pack all that into a quite short documentary. As always a wonderful, intelligent, informative and well thought about travel guide. Absolutely enjoyable and worth watching. Bravo, Rick!

I moved from Berlin to Los Angeles, but I still miss this beautiful city. Berlin has such an awesome vibe. You have to live there to really understand it. It's my favorite city in the world.
  • Rick, that "young American soldier" depicted on the large photograph at Checkpoint Charlie is Sergeant Jeff Harper, a tubist with the 298th Army Band. Jeff went on to complete a full career in the Army and served in the Gulf War and in later deployments to Afghanistan. The 298th Army Band was sent to Berlin to support the Potsdam Conference and arrived in Berlin on 8 July 1945 and remained until its deactivation in September 1994.

I like the way Mr. Rick describes Europe, he is very competent. I am Italian with part of my family German, I have relatives in Switzerland and France, in short I feel like a real European, and I recognize in him a very good knowledge about our continent. Bravo!

I lived here for 3 months this year, great city! This brings back pleasant memories. One of the best parts of Berlin for me was the fantastic public transit. I used it constantly and always enjoyed it!
  • I've grown up watching your videos and now my best friend in Germany stars in this video and works for you. Hi Holger! After living as an exchange student in Germany I became friends with Holger and have had many adventures in and around Berlin East and West pre and post wall. Now I'm a full time German teacher in the US. Great stuff!

I was in Berlin in September 1989. That was just 2 months before the wall started coming down. I went by train from Cologne to West Berlin. That was through the central part of East Germany, DDR. I also did a day coach tour of East Berlin. It was quite something.
