I highly recommend you watch lots of tutorials on YouTube/skillshare for each new material/skill you're adding, you're now getting to some heavier metalsmithing. I will recommend if you do go with liver of sulfur, to do it outside away from anything you don't want to get patina'd or dissolved, as that usually involves acid in the process. And gives off toxic fumes. When I worked with it (timelapse video on my channel from high school actually!) I worked under a gas hood to protect myself. Can't wait to see what designs you come up with ❤

How cool, I didn't know there was silver metal clay. The charms you made all turned out nice and cute. Looking forward to seeing how they look with the red cord and seeing how the ring turns out.

I took a jewelry class in college and was amazed that it can take 8 hours to finish polishing/sanding even something as small as a ring even by hand.... I would recommend getting a cheap dremel and then some attachments for it for polishing! you can also diy sand paper attachments and get other attachments pretty cheap. I'd also say pleaseee wear a good quality mask when sanding/filing because the dust is no joke if you keep doing it!

That upstairs room is honestly bigger than my house, it’s such an amazing space for art 🥹❤

funnily enough, I rewatched the video with you making those blue wax rings (I wanted to rewatch your reaction/thoughts to making art every day) just YESTERDAY :D Also, kudos for trying this new technique! It was very interesting to watch It IS pretty cool how the jewelry turns silver after the brush! I love the clover one

Can you use regular modeling clay (sculpey) to design something, then make a plaster mold from it (or something else that hard), and then press the clay silver into the mold to cast the final one? Then you can make many multiples. Just be sure to use a release agent so things don’t stick together.
  • Literally just sat and thought to check if you posted because I feel like watching your video lmao ❤

You can put your whole piece into the liver of sulphur solution and then polish. The black will remain in the recessed areas and the rest will be bright silver. Also, If you want to change the texture of the pendants you can always use cheap needle files or sanding sticks. You can make sanding sticks with a variety of sand papers and use paint stir sticks from Home Depot. They’re very simple to make! If you sand from 220 grit and work up to 2000 grit, that’s how you end up with a mirror polish! Loving what you’re doing though, keep up the good work! ❤✨

Tiff you’re making me want to pick up jewelry making too! I took one class at an art summer camp and I have the urge to rekindle that flame watching you dip your toes into the craft. Also the gold Star necklace you wear throughout this video gives me accessory envy!!! Love love love 💜✨

What an interesting material, thanks for sharing! 💙
  • I am doing metalsmith jewellery, wax casting and I made jewellery for a year. When you work with silver paste I recommend to put an oil drop in your fingers or a drop of water in the clay and kneading well the clay before to work with it. 😊

So glad that I watched your vid Tiffany, because I saved a pic from Julia Tran of a metal clay piece with the intention to try it out in the upcoming weeks and while you mentioned it being pricy, drying super fast etc. I thought "na-ah!". Thankie for taking us through the whole process and for saving my money and mental energy hahaha.
